Those photos are amazing. I think the first one is of the Hopes Reservoir. A flight out of East Fortune?

    With Cc piloting?

Piloted by @rabidhamster - ICE trike and EBC Cuillen user when he used to park and ride.

Had thermals + Rohans + chunky knit + gillet + ski gloves. Helmet full face with intercom. Used old s/h Coolpix with bust zoom but at least had big on off / shoot button. Very close to pilot. Think 'motorcycling in the sky'.
East Fortune base. Flew as far as Lauder, Legerwood and back up (down) over Traprain, East Linton and round by Tantallon. Battery gave up at end. 1he 30 min. 20 ltrs of fuel used plus strong coffee after!

@LaidBack 'Battery gave up at end' sounded like a mildly concerning end to the flight for a moment (but presumably a microlight would be capable of gliding?) until I reached the reference to traditional fuel. Still exciting though!

    Battery on camera at -6c.
Meant add I was wearing a flight suit over everything. Came back on train from Newcraughall. I would have cycled out but hadn't pannier rack for all the extra clothes in summertime though I may go back.

    I would have cycled out

Probably best you didn't. I was riding the flooded, gravelly back roads you were overflying.

According to the BBC weather page, tomorrow looks like a beautiful day to take bikes on adventures.

That's exactly what I just said to a colleague!

I am wondering if I can finally ditch the 2nd base-layer, neoprene overshoes and winter gloves for a few month now. Am sure it was end of Feb last year when I managed to offload the winter clobber.

Why does it always come on to rain just as I decide to get stuck in to really thoroughly defilthing a bike? It's now nice and clean and quietly dripping onto an old towel. I'm grease-
    stained and damp.

    grease-stained and damp.

Potential for autobiography chapter title in there.

Rode to Hermiston Gait along the towpath this morning in shorts, a cotton cap and my PoP hoodie. No windproof for the first time this year. Was a bit hot at one point. Summer must be on its way.

Why is it raining? The BBC forecast is still showing sunny intervals but I now see that the Met Office forecast has a single raindrop with a sunny interval icon until around 4 pm and then sunshine from 5 pm. Perhaps I should switch.

I was planning on cycling home wearing shorts for the first time this year (which must be rather later than I would usually switch) after not having been quite brave enough to ditch my leggings this morning...

Sun'll be back out soon, which is good as I am cleaning my commuter and it is truly filthy

The BBC are now forecasting light rain and the Met Office are now forecasting heavy rain around my commute home :\

Looked out the window and thought "ooh, might get to cycle home without long sleeves for the first time this year".

Two minutes later I check again and am putting on waterproofs.

Quite mild tho, ah but easterly wind? Go for it @jdanielp, get the legs out before the midges arrive. First hover fly of the year in my sitooterie this afternoon

It's helpful to go beyond the hourly summary forecasts and look at the forecast pics for your area. Then you can work out the nature of the weather system, eg isolated showers.

In the summaries, the probability of rain would be a composite of different elements and so isn't as straightforward to interpret as you'd like.

Yes I play the pictures at the bottom that show the clouds coming in. Groovy.

It's not looking too bad just now, if somewhat cloudier into town. I think I will risk it.

A difficulty for me is that the weather isn't coming from the west as usual. And my office faces west. Might have to take a walk!

I was rained on slightly but didn't really get at all wet earlier. A haar is blowing in just now so probably back to leggings and the winter jacket tomorrow morning.

So Tenerife will be unseasonably cold for the time of year? ;)

That will see the swallows home. They'd starve if they came now - not a flying insect to be seen.
