@Equilibrium I confirm the roads I took this morning were frost/ice-free! As a precaution I avoided my regular route as it was still quite wet last night. I was worried about the state of Livingston because it rained as I was leaving last night. It was fine. Frost on the grass but that's it really.

Plenty frosty with an impression of ice in the puddle around East Craigs. However I fitted studs last night so cant comment
    on the slipperiness.

Thanks for the feedback folks - my route from south to west had frost & some frozen puddles but otherwise ice free.

Quite frosty heading east via Ravelston Dykes after midnight. Felt much colder than limited ice would suggest. Brrrrr!

-2°C chez Arellcat just now. Very heavy frost. Thinking it might be a bus day today. Also need to spend a few hours in the garage to sort out the cadence sensor on the torpedo.

Very icy up top at Tarbrax this morning. Salt had made no impact on the ice. Lot of middle of road dicing for us but descent fine. Apple pie welcoming. And return on north side of road almost ice free. Beautiful sunshine. Trees all white frost, buzzards and pheasants.

Going to be another distinctly un-scorchio night. Good for astro I suppose, except thanks to a whole lot of Today's Rubbish Me-ing I am already cold and tired and cannot be bothered getting the camera equipment out.

One of the more disreputable red tops today was running some headline about an Arctic Bubble and 40 days of mega winter, or something like that.

Beautiful frosty day. I was on foot and bus myself and saw a load of cyclists out.

Very cold and lots of frost in Gilmerton. Only icy bit I saw was where someone had washed their car earlier (now gritted).

Gorgeous frosty days over the weekend.
I was at the bus-stop yesterday at 9am. On the pavement was a plastic glass from Saturday night's revelry. Nothing new there, but the ice cubes which had spilt were still in perfect condition.

  25. I have a feeling my studded winter tyres are being wasted on mild weather like this!

Last night was dispiriting. Soggy and dark after the luminous, brittle weekend.

I only had 10 minutes to spare this morning but decided it was best spent changing the front tyre back to a gatorskin. I'll try and get the rear done tonight.

Weirdly the temperature dropped markedly on the way home. So in Bingham I had to don an extra pair of gloves as it hit about 1 degrees. Further on it was at least 2 degrees higher in Musselburgh and Dalkeith

I was wondering why my feet felt cold as I got home...
