Quite a lot of frost. Did the long commute anyway. Roads were OK. <Rule 2> cold now. Lovely day if you can get out in it but wrap up warm!

Here's their forecast for the same period taken from their web site:

Note the lack of consistency between the daily and six-hourly forecasts on the same web page. One obvious bug is that they've taken the rainfall for the six hour slot with the highest temperature and put that down as the rainfall for the whole day. Neither forecast is consistent with the one on the app, either (the app is closest to the six-hourly one if you aggregate it over the day, but the numbers still don't fully tally).

Overall I'd say that, given that t he yr.no forecasts don't even manage to agree amongst themselves, there aren't any huge discrepancies between those and the Met Office forecast:

It's unpleasant out but doesn't feel super stormy here. How fare the higher grounds of Edinburgh & surrounding territories?

Stormy in That Roslin. My woodburner is doing a passable impression of a blast furnace even with the vents mostly shut, and my garage wall is leaking in six different places.

Didn't think it was that bad this morning, but one dog insisted on turning round and going home less than 300m into the morning walk. Not sure that's ever happened before.

So wet coming back from the pub that folk were crammed into the tiny bus shelter and actually....talking to each other.

    The horror.

Could they not have arranged the course in the reverse direction?

Anyone else feel this morning that the apocalyptic warnings of ice, snow & gale force winds have perhaps not quite been borne out? Might all still be to come of course.

Felt remarkably clement this morning. I must have too many layers on. I'd have cycled if fit enough.

Seems I managed to time walking the dogs fairly well - wasn't particularly pleasant, but got a lot worse soon after getting back.

Hopefully I can pull the same trick on the way to work...

Timed my station to office ride badly and got snowed on. It looks more pleasant now. I'm expecting worse weather later. I intend to take my laptop home this evening so I can work from home if the trains grind to a halt tomorrow.
