Gritters out in town tonight on pavement and was passed by non-operative lorry too. Home late tonight and pavement outside the house already frosty

Also @unhurt’s pocket dynamo has just asked me for my wind management plan which is verging on satire

Can confirm pavements continued to frost (just been out with the recycling). Roads seemed ok - spit in the air. Might go back to leggings.

Made it to the station on my road bike so it's not that bad if you're vigilant

    Not much wind!
Spotted two gritters out within Edinburgh council and frosty patches in Wester Hailes.
West Lothian council doesn't believe in ice anymore and no gritters there last night or this morning (on tracker). My rear wheel was slipping through on a major road junction. But main roads were fine if you stayed clear of the sides. Pavements and side roads icy.

Very slippery at bits in clerwood so I took the bus. There’s also been a crash on Clermiston Road unsure if it was inattention or the driver skidded

    "Has the wind.....gone?"

Nope, Earth is inhaling and is about to blow again.

Canal was much busier than last few days so clearly people getting their bikes out again. Or maybe I was just there a bit later than usual (only maybe 5-10 mins or so).

Overall canal cold but not icy. A few patches on the roads on way to canal.

I've enjoyed cycling back in daylight the last few days! Wind has been a curse though. Hope to have a day away from it today.

What's all this talk about there being no wind? It may have dropped somewhat, but it very much still present.

Would anyone like some freshly squeezed cloudy juice? Collected a lot of it this morning.

1km of Clifton Rd near East Calder has turned into a burn. My feet were pedaling underwater this morning.

@bill - think you have taken title for today's most aquatic commute. Day is still young though...!

Distinctly dark when I woke up to the sound of thrumming rain. Rain gauge overflowing, front lawn quivering like a jelly underfoot.

This is how we live now

Its a portent of the constant dark and cold rain evident in Konstantin Lopushanky's Ugly Swans.

Best get used to it, we have a serious head start on the single occupant comfortists locked down in full denial

I've seen promise of improvement in March...

There's a transient lochan in front of my but and ben, partly on the road, partly on the pavement. There's enough unblocked gully to stop it from moving in to the house. I of course don't like it, but the wee kids really enjoy shrieking as they edge their way round it. I should start floating boats.

One of of my weather apps has just piped up with a yellow wind warning from 06:00 tomorrow. Hasn't been too bad at commute-times so far this week, though I did get a foreheadful of hail on Tuesday lunchtime.
