I suppose that's what happens in leafy suburbs when the wind blows...

I was just about blown to a standstill on the A7 today. Was on the trike so no problems falling off but it was a pretty severe blast. Good day for going out in a big baggy jacket and sailing home.

It is very windy and wet here and the silver birches are being battered. Por lo tanto, estoy adentro y estoy comiendo comida chatarra.

I cycled along Porty Beach at low water yesterday, just to experience the full joy of the wind. Exhilarating on short downwind bursts, painful heading back into it requiring a solid lean on the reaches.

Much easier than coping with the gusts and eddies when in among buildings though.

I thought the wind was supposed to abate to breeze status today. But it's howling like a banshee and steam-rolling my plants.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate
Rough winds doth shake the darling buds of May
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date

Through every nook and every cranny
The wind blew in on poor old Granny
Around her knees, into each ear
(And up her nose as well, I fear)

All through the night the wind grew worse
It nearly made the vicar curse
The top had fallen off the steeple
Just missing him (and other people)

It blew on man, it blew on beast
It blew on nun, it blew on priest
It blew the wig off Auntie Fanny-
But most of all, it blew on Granny!

    Milligan.

I would guess so, but not planning to go down and check any time soon. It's going to be full on radio rental this weekend.

It looks surprisingly not at all bad at Porty today. Tomorrow will be a different story, no doubt.

He says it was busier further along, but I'm sure he'd have got a pic if there was a story in it.

Just filled in my meter reading for the last 3 months solar panel generation.

20% up on last year which was already one of the highest up till that point.

@HC. Also expecting a bumper harvest from our solar panels. Making arrangements to have them cleaned, which will hopefully increase the yield.

Some of the people who have been furloughed will not have jobs to go back to. Times are going to be very hard for a lot of people very soon.

@IWRATS - indeed. The worse is still to come in terms of economy & mental health.

I fear the challenges we are all facing to hold it all together will be made all the harder if the lockdown restrictions continue/return into the autumn and getting outside becomes less pleasant than it is on a bright sunny day.

Hang in their folks and don't be afraid to ask for help. This is not easy on anyone.

Took a gamble on 30% chance of precipitation and went out for a ride.

    I lost. Badly.

Left home later than I had planned (5pm) just as the rain was starting and headed to the North of the city, continuing my mission to try and ride every street.

Enjoyed a nice and dry ride, but because aware and I returned home that the streets were increasingly very damp.

Mrs F was amazed that I had remained comply dry in the hourish I was out for!

I saw quite a few garden sprinklers in action over the past week. I didn't think there was a market for them here. But there you go.

Left a roll of J-cloths outside last night, unwisely.
