Some big clouds heading this way from the south. Maybe that's the extra snow?

I decided not to cycle in today and I was going to get a lift to work. On the way to my lift I saw 3 people on X-country skis, helped to push 2 cars up Ashley Terrace and saw 3 brave cyclists on Slatford Rd.
Seeing the state of Slateford Rd we decided to WFH.

Ashley Terrace was bad this morning - I yomped up Craiglockhart Hills for a ski

On my return, a Ford Mustang driver was spinning his wheels wildly outside Craiglockhart Tesco - that's what 5 liters (sic) of American pride through the rear wheels and no traction control gets you

That's the thick flakes back on. If this lasts a few hours we'll have a nice carpet of white stuff.

EDIT - Nah, just a heavy shower...

Hollywood Christmas flakes. Cue the couple walking arm and arm in the final scene.

Lots of wheel spinning drivers in city today. Was taking trike from shop to Canongate and noticed a big queue at Lauriston. Hill up from St Thomas's just too much for some cars yet people still wanted to go down as they were certain their car would not be affected.
Later in day saw a BMW getting pushed up slight hill. Then best one - a BMW trying to go up St Vincent Street - revving crazily and polishing the road. Eventually the guy slid down, turned around and headed back into Stockbridge. People obviously have no idea of how steep a street is and think their car can defy gravity with zero traction.

Mr fimm skied up the Water of Leith path yesterday. I went for a walk in the Pentlands (I had some leave to use up, and picked yesterday at random. You win some...) I had a fun cycle in the snow on Tuesday after work.

We went sledging on Craigmillar Hill in the 'dark'. I'm not a mentalist or anything but I did wax and polish the runners of the borrowed sledge in order to go further and faster than the teenage boys.

Lovely frost pattern on the glass of the sitooterie this morning. I am regretting not moving the bay tree indoors, it was doing well

Last night there was a strange light dark striation. The Pentlands were incredibly white and the sky was incredibly dark. Was rather lovely

Forecast says weather and temperatures heading back to normal for the time of year from Sunday.

The snow has been fun, but I'll be glad to be able to tend the allotment once more...

A90 NCN 1 remains in a shocking state of disrepair

its almost as if all available maintenance resources are directed to ensure that scotland motors on regardless

that couldn't be right, could it ?

On bbc news website. Cars buried in very brown snow. buckie. Prior to burial ove driver had the foresight to make his windscreen wipers stick out. Bit like in the Tolstoy short story Man And Master

In the big freeze 2010-11 there was a patch of snow at Balerno high school that never saw any sun and was there until June

Side roads/pavements still pretty icy in Morningside, but you should be fine for any trip along main roads.
