Just been out for a roll and it was spitting and threatening rain but it didn't come to anything.

Those clouds look like rain coming, but maybe not...

Given the Fine Article mentions "places seeing up to 80-100m of water" you might be needing those canoes :)

Well I'm a thunderstorm skeptic. We were promised one a week ago. Did it happen? If we are going to get deluging rain, the weather gods could chuck in some light and sound effects as well.

It did happen just not overhead

I'm not seeing the light rain showers they were forecasting yesterday. Ah, they're now saying they'll start at 9pm. There are some fluffy looking clouds to the far west, maybe that's the rain? We'll see.

Rain finally here, only a day later than forecast. So they got the general drift right. Something amiss with the divining approach when it comes to eastern coastal areas methinks.

    Nor the darkening map

But plenty heavy rain and it is close (as in humid, not as in near)

@SRD, aye looking like a wall of steel grey to the south. Takes the shine off the sunny intervals here.

    Siling. Down now.

I went to inspect the loud chapping noise, thought something broken,

Turned out was rain hitting the glass roof of the Sitooterie

Maybe won’t get out for a spin today.

BBC has taken the lightning symbol off tomorrow’s forecast, just rain but not as warm.

Some short-lived, but very heavy, rain in south Edinburgh just there.

Touch of son et lumiere in Fairmilehead at the moment. Oh, and there's quite a lot of rain coming down too. Correction: an awful lot of rain.

C R Smith were here earlier replacing a cracked double glazing panel, finishing the job with just seconds to spare before the heavens opened.

I'm pleased to say that it looks like the new gutter I put up on our summerhouse a few weeks ago does appear to be doing its job. Wouldn't surprise me if the new water butt is full to overflowing already.

Just popped out to confirm the the new water butt is full, as is the old one that fills from the toolshed roof and that I emptied in to the pond the other day. The pond is also close to overflowing. And it's raining again, hard. Time to stop now, thank you.

Anyone know the conditions on WoL path currently? Any landslips, etc.? Asking as I'm planning a walk along it later this week - if largely impassable then will postpone...

The bit east of Gallery of Modern Art is still closed with diversion. Is that where you mean @crowriver? Clear from Balerno to Canal. The Scottish Water work at Juni Green is complete and no diversions,

@gembo, ah good to know, even though it's a pity that still hasn't been sorted after all these years. I was also wondering if any unpaved sections are flooded or impassable after this heavy rain?

The Slateford Road one is the place it always floods.
