OK, who turned the rain on again? It was meant to be dry this afternoon.

I don't know but tomorrow might be a nice day for growing gills...

Looked out the window and was pleased to see it's dry.

Checked the forecast (and raintoday) and was displeased to see we're due a CRAZY MONSOON from about 9.30am

    Going to work now!

Monsoon extends to most of the morning - glad I stayed up to fix my mudguards....

I think today might test the reliability of forecasters and also highlight the 'luck' of cycling at the right time - plus a few examples of local not/rain.

IF this is true, not actually much rain -

    http://m.yr.no/place/United_Kingdom/Scotland/Edinburgh/hour_by_hour.html

Likely to rain throughout the day - but not all the time.

Best not to put the washing out.

Some people will get wet (but perhaps not as much as I did yesterday - partly because my waterproofing has finally failed.)

"...partly because my waterproofing has finally failed"

I observed a fair collection of drips on the undersurface of the top flap of my pannier and on top of the rumpled-up drawstring-tied inner yesterday. I suppose I ought to give it a skoosh with something hydrophobic.

How will I get to Cycle Service to collect my special order bartape in this?

@chdot bartape?! special order bartape at that!? What's wrong with a couple of old inner tubes and some pipe insulation knotted around the bars.

I would have though duct tape would have been ideal. Waterproof and all.

I've seen some vehicles on the roads, they're enormous things and probably very dangerous. They have all these windows so that you can look at the people sitting inside. You can get to go inside too, but you have to give money to a special person to do this. The vehicles also seem to have big numbers on the front and back that I think are a code for where the vehicle is going. Maybe there's a number that matches up with the Cycle Service? :-)

Is it custom-printed with "COLLAPSIBLE - not folding" written on it?

    No.

This one will not separate (in spite of internet rumours).

I prefer foam grips, then cotton bar tape on top. Comfortable! :-)

Im hoping we get a proper winter this year - cold with little wind and occasional snow. My Marathon Winters have not had enough use and are now just a home for dead slater bugs.

I quite like not slipping over (when I haven't the studs on). Occasional days of ice and snow might be okay but long periods isn't fun for long

I was somwhat bemused about having to actually put some effort into cycling west this morning. I also note that the BBC forecast features black 'Wind Gusts' arrows for the first time in ages starting at 1am tomorrow morning and lasting until 3pm in the afternoon at up to 52 mph.

The Leith Walk headwind was a challenge for uphill travellers today.

Couple of big branches down in Leith Links. WoL/NEPN clear between Sandport and Roseburn. I thought Leith Walk might be blowy so went the long way round.
