Any snow is supposed to arrive later this afternoon, whereupon it will probably appear as rain.

A few of the raindrops hitting me on the way home last night were a little slushy, but this morning there was only one tiny puddle on Leith Links with a tiny skin of ice atop it.

Tiny amount of ice on A8 Cycle Paths around Gogarburn, but nothing compared to a few weeks back.

The canal towpath was absolutely fine, although there were hints of frosty ice at the edges in a few places.

Be warned: I've just taken the studded tyres off my bike, which means it's almost certain to be very icy tomorrow.

Not quite ice but not far off it. Taking bike to bike service for new front wheel. I have been two weeks of cycle challenge longer routes with spikes on because the wheel that the spikes are on is not caved, however, I have had enough and time for new front wheel and maybe tyre? The haar has however just reached balerno

Haar all over the place. Visibility about thirty metres at Leith Links, twenty metres along Willowbrae Road and perhaps ten along the bit of the Innocent through Bingham. Clearer in town.

Air pollution will hit “dangerous” levels across much of Scotland in the next few days, environmental campaigners have warned.

Friends of the Earth Scotland said the pollution will hit parts of the country on Thursday, peak on Friday, and in some areas will still be an issue on Saturday.

The pollution is always there, all that happens on days like these is that it can't escape fast enough and hangs around.

    Hmmm...

Took my studs off last night and what looks like wet snow is currently falling in EH12.

    Sorry...

Cold this morning. Frost on the golf course and some of the back streets, but not icy.

There was some nasty sleety stuff falling in the Pentlands earlier.

Sorry, I think this evening's hail was my fault. I had just finished hosing Borders mud off my car when it started.

Not so nice in Midlothian. Snow/slush on sides of road. Standing water in places (avoid Elginhaugh Bridge). Cold, wet and windy.

Snow was lying in West Edinburgh when we went to bed last night but all gone this morning. I think I'll call tomorrow Hognamay if the weather doesn't warm up.

It's supposed to be 10 degrees cooler tomorrow. I was just starting to think summer would stay this year!

Note that someone specifically took the time to make an anti-cycling comment on the EEN story about torrential rain. Trolling reaches all new lows...
