Now stopped again. The ground has merely become wet.

Extremely light drizzle here in Abbeyhill. Not much more than a really heavy dew or moist fog. Pathetic precipitation really: won't make up for the recent drought that's for sure.

    Wind fanning flames https://stv.tv/amp/1389306-fire-breaks-out-at-former-royal-victoria-hospital/

Much black smoke visible on and off all afternoon. Now amazing red sky surrounding billowing black smoke.

One local resident, who did not want to be named, said he could see the blaze from his house.

Would have thought ENews could see it from their office.

I got caught in the massive wind/gusty/hail/rain storm thing on the Lang Wang. Got absolutely soaked and it was quite unexpected. RAin lasted all the way back but wind died down a bit later on.

    It came from this:

which was overhead by the time I'd put my waterproof on!

Yep. That was the Mordor looking stuff that caught me in the hills! Looks like an alien ship from independence day is entering the atmosphere! Great Photo.

MrSRD and MiniSRD made it home from go-ride just as it hit. Bizarre storm - especially after such a calm day (in terms of wind). Rain looked like smoke or steam blowing sideways across the neighbours' roof.

As I was getting ready for the school run, it was sunny so I hung out the washing.

As I trained over the bridges, the ominously looking dark clouds didn't feed me optimism.

I'll be happy if their scaling back of the thunderstorm is correct - I have to cycle my old bike back from Bonnyrigg later this afternoon after a bicycling misadventure yesterday whereby a visiting friend joined myself and another regular cyclist friend on the trip out to visit mutual friends there, but suffered from a combination of overconfidence, despite not having cycling in a long time, and heat, which was tough enough for the two of us regular cyclists as it turned out. Quite luckily we stopped outside a very friendly person's house on Gilmerton Road when he started to feel unwell and ended up being invited into the shade of the garden and given iced water while he recovered, and then even offered a lift for my friend and bike that he was riding the rest of the way to Bonnyrigg...

Managed to avoid getting wet (just got in before the heavy rain a little before 6), beating my friends back into town on my bike versus the number 31 Lothian Bus.
