CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.
Might rain all day tomorrow -

The storm missed Edinburgh and went to Kirkcaldy instead.
I hope we get some persistent rain soon, the dry ground is very sad.
Yeah it's supposed to rain for about 24 hours starting at midnight. My kids' sports day tomorrow: maybe it will be called off...
Hammering it down again here (ten past four).
Hopefully it will stop before I have to cycle to the station (though I have my comedy red cycle cape if it does not).
@klaxon heavy enough for you now??!
Ah, timed for 5pm. Well done.
Pleased though that my waterproofs stood up to the flow this morning.
I have never seen hail descending like that.
Its dry and bright again in Livingston
In the time it took to go up two floors from a meeting it changed from pelting-down-sleet to bright-sunny. I shall still be putting my phone in a nappy bag on the way home, just in case.
Waited until the deluge ended. Was still wet going home but the WoL path has absorbed most of it, just a few big puddles and only one that is tricky to avoid
I cycled through steaming tarmac paths in Livingston around 2:30pm. The paths were still wet from the earlier storm/hail and it suddenly got very sunny. The steam was going about 1-1.5m high up and looked very cool.
As it has rained all night I think it is safe to say the WoL path has more puddles. My early tatties also have started to flower
Wow those tatties are early!
No need to water the garden now :) And I got to try out my waterproof socks bought at Aldi a long time ago
Raining steadily here in Livingston. At least it isn't windy, and the comedy red cycle cape did its job.
1/2" of rain overnight -
http://www.ed.ac.uk/geosciences/weather-station/readings/24hours
And prediction of another 1" today
https://www.yr.no/en/list/hourly/2-2650225/United%20Kingdom/Scotland/Edinburgh/Edinburgh?i=0
According to my rain gauge we had about 8mm in very short order yesterday and another 15 overnight. Cor bloimey guvner.
Brand new decathlon water proof leaked on second properly wet outing...
Kids enjoyed the bike splashing through puddles this morning, me less so - might have been connected to dryness of footwear :-(
on this rain-lashed morning
no surprise that our pampered moton pals
remain dumb all over
and a little ugly on the side
@bax yes - and speeds seem to go up despite the conditions (much longer braking distances and lower visibility).
I enjoyed my best night's sleep in some time accompanied by the soporific drone of the rain falling. Full winter waterproofs today and I still arrived at work partially damp around the edges and somewhat sweaty on the inside. Some of the vegetation is drooping dangerously low over the canal towpath west of the Bridge 8 Hub, and some of the towpath is almost indistinguishable from the canal.
Genuinely take getting a periodic soaking to a car commute all year.
All 3 commutes this week have been absolutely soaking, but I still wouldn't swap them for the car.
Different kind of rain this morning. Yesterday I was caught in some deluges but today was steady and heavy. Both resulted in similar levels of drowning.
I was stuck with other traffic yesterday in the worst of the rain, had to turn the radio up to it hear over the pelting rain on the roof. Still would rather have been walking.
I think until yesterday I'd worn my waterproofs to work once since Christmas, and that was about 2 weeks ago.
Not even joking.
Rain, no wind, don't mind it at all.
Waterproofs totally sound. Wet hair, dry clothes.
Fountainbridge lived up to its watery name with lochs and rivers.
Quite exhilarating sneaking up the sides and dodging the juggernauts.
Brakes though noticeably less efficient.
...I need to get some actually waterproof waterproofs. Suggestions welcome! Note I am very prone to overheating so if it doesn't come with vents I'll end up about as wet from my own mobile greenhouse effect as I would have done from rain.

Matches my wee jug in the ground pretty well. B-)
