    The trams are suspended due to flooding. Can't really think what part of the line that would be, hope no homes are underwater.

    "overhwlemed the drainage systems and caused flooding at the A8 underapss between Edinburgh Gateway and Gyle Centre"

    Apparently, according to https://edinburghtrams.com/news/service-update-1/

    Funnily enough, that was my first thought, then Haymarket somewhere.

    Weather station back on line, looks like about 100mm of rain in the last 24 hours (there were only a few mm on the clock before yesterday, now sitting at just over 100mm for June)

    Coo!

    Was down at the Granton Walled Garden (they're doing sessions Wed &Sun 11-1) doing some weeding /clearance today and the weeds pulled up so easily because the ground was nice and moist :)

  12. Dry ride in this morning in summer kit, but the current rain and the forecast for 4pm would indicate that the chances of a dry ride home are pretty slim.

    I did ensure my overshoes and GoreTex cycling jacket were stowed in my rucksack this morning, so I should manage to keep my shoes and jersey drier than they might otherwise end up if the forecast stays right!

    I brought neither Goretex nor roof today, so will have to rely on carbon fibre and my waterproof cap.

    @Iain McR

    Watch yourself in Glen Feshie. Map now totally useless and that river keen for victims.

    Otherwise have a great time.

    Quite a lot more water in Thriepmuir last night than there was the last time I was there.

  20. Was just spitting as I left work yesterday, but soon turned to steady rain.

    My Gore BikeWear jacket (bought last year, only worn about 4 or 5 times since) lasted about 5 minutes before it completely wetted-out all over. I expected the DWR coating to have lasted a bit longer than that before it required reactivating, really. Gave it a wash in NikWax TechWash last night, and will do the warm iron tonight as I don't have a tumble drier to reactivate the DWR.

    If it rains on the ride home tonight I shall be relying on my 6yr-old Foska "I Pay Road Tax" summer jersey and my (considerably older) skin to keep me dry :-D

    This morning's storm swept through Northumberland and Tyneside instead then out to sea.

    Remains to be seen if any more start up

    Although it did see fit to rain quite heavily for around ten of the thirty-five minutes while I was cycling in to work a little before lunchtime - I was mostly dry by the time that I made it in to work though. Quite refreshing.
