    Possibly a strange request, however...
I've been asked for present suggestions for me, I though of a Brompton toolkit (cool but I can't justify the price) but they don't seem to be available just now :-( and I'm struggling to think of anything else(!)

So any suggestions of pressies for the bike commuter who has most things :-s
Brompton bling? Useful odds and bods? Cool toys?

What would you guys like in a present? :-)

I would just like ANY bike stuff as a present!

I once got bought a book relating to cycling, but that is it. Instead I get crappy jumpers I have no need for. Bah humbug!

I googled "for the cyclist who has everything".

My sister got me some bar tape and a chainring for my last birthday and a bell for the birthday before that. A multipack of spare tubes? Replacement brake cables?

A Jagwire cable set, so you can decorate your bike in the cable outer colour of your choosing? It's a doubleplusgood present because it means you get a few hours quality, guilt-free spanner-twirling time for free, with no "what are you still doing in the bl***y garage?!" implications.

Books? "How I Won the Yellow Jumper" by Ned Boulting is much more perceptive than the title suggests and is very funny. I also enjoyed Laurent Fignon's autobiography "We Were Young and Carefree".

I've asked for a Shirt Shuttle - Do you travel much with shirts?

    Shirt Shuttle

Wonder if that would fit in the carradice.

Hmm had a look at the shirt shuttle as I sometimes do travel with ironed shirts and jackets, reviews on Amazon are distinctly variable and as it is apparently larger than A4 it will only just fit into the bigger of my ortlieb panniers (back roller classic).
Don't know... interesting thought though :-)

@Kappers, given my chosen cable colour is black jagwire would seem somewhat wasted ;-)

@smudge yes but are you happy with just "black" when you could have "braided titanium"?

    Lol, yes ;-)
I have however pointed swmbo at carradice barley, a QR mount, some of the black but reflects white scotchlite tape and a few other options including winter type clothing. Thanks all for the ideas :-)

@ Kaputnik - never buy 'black' socks from normal shops, they shaft you every time

I thought my Uncle Tommy was wearing black socks, but when I looked at them closely, they were just very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very dark blue.

My auntie says she has a copy of the David McCallum show but I've never seen it.

@WFB, some good ones, but the SON was too spendy so my Brompton has a Shimano hub, B&M Cyto on the front and funnily enough the very back light you mention :-)
Not sure about the wool Tilley, I've had a "normal" Tilley for many years but tend not to wear it on the bike, if I'm wearing a hat and not a buff, cycle cap or lid I tend to wear a tweed cap, but will have a wee read and see what I reckon ta.
Kojak and Invisible man not really my thing (and with my work and a toddler in the house I see very little TV other than Baby Jake, In the Night Garden etc.. (and I've already bought him the Trumptonshire and Ivor the Engine box sets :-))

This time of year I'm usually wearing a Lowe Alpine trail or mountsin cap with ear flaps. I've got a few Buffs.

The memsahib thinks Lowe Alpine ear flaps look goofy but approves of the Tilley which in my book is a strike against the Tilley.

Got lots of old kids TV here including the Robinson Crusoe we never saw the end of because they showed it during the English summer holidays.

Harris Tweed Saddle Bags / Panniers from Slater. They have on display on a rusty bike in their window on Victoria St. Not sure if the are all Saddle bags just displayed as small panniers..

    • Don't hold much so save weight
    • Not that waterproof so you'll choose nice days to cycle
    • Too nice to use...?

I looked at them in the window. Rather impractical for everyday use as they attach on/off using leather buckles. Not quite up to Ortleib QR-system practicality.
