Fridays should be about getting dressed up, meeting friends, going out.

Why do I always end up greasy to the elbows, with dirty fingernails, smelling slightly of GT85?

Because you can't go out unless your bike is fit for the occasion.

    Because you don't have WD-40?

I'm listening to Slade and taking boy to/from Scouts.

I'll be taking the Longstaff out from the back of the garage this weekend to check it's all rolling nicely.

I really don't think I want to know what you get up to behind closed doors on a Friday night! :-o

(But Ann Summers may be able to lend some assistance) ;-)

I'm in a 4x4 club. Today, we took a bunch of trucks into the mud and got very, err, muddy.

On *FRIDAY* I left work early to pick up my truck from the garage and then play host to a couple of friends who had come down from Stornoway and Inverness to attend the mudfest.

Inevitably, we had to poke around our respective engine bays and prod the tools in my garage.

So, my Friday was spent with friends, drinking beer, and being wrist deep in oil, diesel and power tools.
    And we had a curry.

    Pretty much perfect, then :D

I prefer GT85 to WD40 - I find it thinner and a it seems to evaporate quicker - also the smell holds some sort of memory trigger for me which takes me back to cold nights heading out on the pedicab in winter while a student. GT85 liberally applied everywhere on the gears and the hub gear effectively filled with the stuff. mmmmm.

I try to have one night a week dedicated to something between bike maintenance and hoovering.
