So after returning to education after a long gap, I've decided to turn my previously fast exciting bike into something a bit more sensible as I'm carrying my own body weight in folders and pens.
Hence the addition of fatter tyres (28c), full mudguards, (almost) working brakes and sensible lighting options, but it's still a fixed gear with a ratio of 48/17 on a on-one pompino frame. As I'm a skint student, new bike isn't going to be possible.
I've been tempted to buy a Sturmey Archer S2 Duomatic (non-coaster brake). Any experience with these? What would be a sensible ratio when using these fancy intergears?
Any help would be appreciated.
