Lesley Riddoch has written a piece in the Scotsman on how local leadership in Copenhagen has made the city more liveable.
This may need a spoiler alert for Borgen viewers who haven't seen the final few episodes (being one of those, I skipped the first couple of paragraphs when I saw reference to the series finishing, so I'm not sure how much is given away).
All very sensible stuff, although this in the final paragraph raised an eyebrow:
Edinburgh – led by cyclist Andrew Burns – plans Copenhagen Lanes down most of Leith Walk, electric bikes to cope with city hills, more 20mph residential zones and cycle training for council drivers.
Do the Leith Walk plans really look like "Copenhagen Lanes"? That certainly wasn't the impression I got at the consultation. Have they changed since the extra money was awarded?
