    Next Fri(?)

Custom, habit and inertia suggests another last, Friday of another month at the familiar venue.

A chance for PoP organising 'veterans' to encourage 'novices' to join in.

(Not hijacking PoP planning for 'recruitment', just that there are usually some PoPers at PYs most months and this year's event will undoubtedly get discussed!)

    New ideas (and help) welcome.

OBVIOUSLY this is NOT the only chance to get involved, but could be a useful opportunity.

Individuals who happen to be members of CCE have been heavily involved in PoP from the beginning - but being a member of CCE isn't a requirement!

We should have leaflets there for folk who want to pick some up and help us distribute them.

Alas I can't make it, but happy to distribute leaflets if I can get some next week.

I fear I am required in D Mains at 9am hence not likely to make this as would need to leave before I arrived and would be earlier than everyone else

PoP Flyers, posters (some already laminated) will be available from about 7.45am on Friday at PY for those helpful souls would like to take them and share them out. I should be there for about an hour. For others who can't make it on Friday, we plan to leave bundles at all the bike shops in Edinburgh. If that doesn't work we can find another way to get some to you.. All help to spread the word is really appreciated.

"All help to spread the word is really appreciated"

Almost an understatement this year with all the uncertainty about the date.

As well as distributing leaflets and posters, occasional mentions on Twitter and FB all help

    AND

    just telling people!

I'd like to help spread the word but unfortunately I'm a bit too shy to be the hand-out-flyers-in-public type. I think I will attach a flyer or poster to my town bike though as a sort of mobile advert.

"...I'm a bit too shy to be the hand-out-flyers-in-public type..."

That's what handlebar flyers are for. In two years doing that I've probably only had two awkward resultant person-to-person interactions per many hundred bikes.

Possibly being very dim, is this in the morning or evening? Saw 'am' twice, is it a typo? I'd like to pick up some leaflets (and ideally a poster or 2) to distribute.

Am. But if folk can't make morning meetings, but want to collect stuff can arrange an evening one sometime.

@SRD as already stated I can't make Friday and I'm away over the weekend - can we arrange a mutually convenient time for me to get some handlebar flyers from you?

Also, who is likely to go where? Does that need a separate thread?

I am not sure if I can actually be at POP this year. But I can definitely flyer and for the first time in ages I should be arriving at PY by bike tomorrow. :-)

@wingpig you are welcome to Waverley. I'm heppy to do Haymarket, but go through about 6pm usually so will miss people who move their bikes before then, so if anayone is there earlier & is willing to do some flyering, speak up!

I'll do what I can with Livingston as well.

Bagsy Haymarket at lunchtime too, then.

    @wingpig all your! :-)
(Note, this means my need for flyers is not very large as there aren't many bikes in Livingston...)

I think we've managed to get the #pop2014 tag back off the american music festival that was trying to use it :)

If there is anybody coming tomorrow who can drop leaflets/posters off at the bike shops of Edinburgh, let me know and I'll bring extra tomorrow. Particularly looking for people to cover North, West and East Edinburgh bike shops/bike repair outlets/cafes this weekend.

Shuggiet - I'm heading West after PY tomorrow, so can drop some off at Harts Cyclery if that helps.

Pff. Classic obstructive timing by the elderwean when I was mere seconds from being out of the door. I'll just print my own handlebarflyers.

Lovely morning for it and nice to see folks.

I have a horrible feeling I utterly failed to introduce myself to the chap opposite me, in favour of waffling about cycling in Glasgow instead so er, hi, I'm Min.

Also, SRD that was me waving at you at the crossroad bit in the Meadows if you couldn't quite see me!

Nice seeing everyone including newbie russellely. Also youngest ever very new grandson of chdot. He's already on a tandem and he can't yet walk. (Bram might have been youngest before).
Anyway got extra flyers at LB for anyone. Out on our tandem now and planning to drop at silverknowes cafe an beach house. Big posters look great and may take more.
