Decree for his removal from the beach granted at Edinburgh Sheriff Court this morning. He represented himself and fairly entertained the Court - and may even have helped lift the tension for those who were there for the more serious business of trying to avoid real eviction from their real homes.

His 'defence' appeared to be that people liked the tent (and piano) being there. However, that lacked legal punch so his show moves on.

I can't quite decide if he's a harmless old eccentric, someone with genuine mental health problems or just a showman reveling in the publicity.

OK, so this helps me clarify my thinking on this. He's just a self-publicist out to squeeze the maximum from his 15 minutes.

What a complete waste of time.

Meanwhile, the serious business of real eviction from real homes continued at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday with over a 100 cases Calling in the 'rent' and 'mortgage' arrears Courts.

Those are the numbers every week. That's the real story.

The tent was still at the beach on Monday, and on Friday. No harm done I suppose, but probably time he moved on.

    Pi-anarchy or public nuisance?

There is a piano in st pAncras station that you are encouraged to play, maybe Haymarket could have one too?

"We're supposed to sit here and pontificate," Romilly tells Treuhaft when he arrives late on a bicycle, looking like a big, robust kid with his head covered in a Japanese scarf.

Council chiefs said the musical tent breached the city’s management rules which prohibit camping within one mile of a public road.

An interesting piece of selective application of the rules by the council there.

They don't seem to enforce that particular rule too strictly on the kids who often camp down at Cramond foreshore or the campsite further east at Silverknowes.

A convenient way of moving along a troublesome eccentric.

The far end of Crammond Island must be about a mile from the esplanade. Perhaps he could be helped to get the piano into one of the disused gun emplacements there?

Sea view, passing tourists, not bothering anyone much...he might become the urban equivalent of Skye's now retired Leopard Man.

MANY years ago ECA students organised an all night party on the island.

People walked out before the tide came in, but the sound system was delivered by boat.

The coastguard was warned that people were happy to be 'stranded'.

Lucky they took the sound system as the rats did not like their banging tunes and left them alone. The rats out there are huge.

Also on that London 24 site in the side bar, chaos at Liverpool street as man carries golf clubs and pushes bike up the side of the track. And cyclist seriously ill after being hit by hackney cab on Oxford st.

Is he on this forum? Just been out along Cramond foreshore. His tent appeared has appeared here, did not look closely to see if there was a piano, also spotted man with green goatee in a car going down the hill past Cramond Inn.

That is the beach dweller for sure, green goatee. He is not on here as he is too ordinary for us. :-)

I wonder how long it will take before he is in the EEN once more?

He's been down there for a few weeks already. I suspect he moved straight there from Porty. Perhaps he's waiting for the right tide to let him push a piano across the causeway.

There was some sort of weird physio/exercise/pilates/other rack outside the tent last night alongside scattered chairs. Doesn't look very nice with it there.

There were also 3 caravans (but no cars) along the other end of the promenade near the wee pump track. ASsuming these guys are travellers?

@ARobComp the area is called Gypsy Brae. I don't know if it's a co-incidence, but there's often large traveller gatherings / festivals held there, kind of like an entmoot for caravans.

There's a reasonably high tide about 30 mins before the event is due to start. There's not going to be much beach to party on for a while after that. It will be at low tide around 730PM.

They may think they're sticking it to the man, but you can't stick it to Neptune.
