Nice bit of photo journalism in the latest Rapha e-mail. Photos better than writing IMO. They do not clutter the story with an actual map but the route crosses a remote part of the north island in what may have been the spring (our autumn) as I think they ascend to ski resorts? Anyway they get rained on lots which is satisfying. They do not clutter their bikes with saddle bag etc and one photo has all six riders so obviously there must have been a support vehicle. Largely car free route, sometimes the road is gravel. Ends at Hawkes Bay where the vineyards are situated.

I asked my better half how much she thought the brevet jersey I covet would cost? guessed £250 because the website looked expensive.

Tomorrow I am first in the door when Aldi opens, I fancy an oil pen and maybe the puncture repair pump thingy? Looks like the green gunk that you can put inside your tubes beforehand but being marketed as device to fix puncture if you get one? Anyway will have a look and doubtless buy another race cape for £9.99 in black this time as kids say the white one is a poly bag. I am carry bag man, carrier bag man (name that tune)
