Whilst reading through the enthralling Scottish Transport Act (2005), I’ve discovered that SPT are no longer Strathclyde Passenger Transport. Since 2005 they’re Strathclyde Partnership for Transport and should in fact be providing strategic direction for all councils in West Central on all matters of Transport.
They’re not.
I’m going to dig around a bit more, but has anyone had any interaction with SEStran, which is your equivalent organisation? Certainly their website seems much more about strategy than SPT (motto: if it’s not a bus or the subway, we don’t care), but I’m interested if that actually carries down to the town planning and council interaction level.
Self-indulgent plug, which includes a rather nice take on SPT's logo, if I say so myself.
