Panda biology definitely does not conform to the tourist season. Or anything else much. So the timing is co-incidental. If you really wanted to line the two up you would have cute bouncing baby pandas available for the tourists to view in August!

I'd be more impressed if it gave birth to piglets.

THE German scientist who artificially inseminated Edinburgh panda Tian Tian has revealed when she is set to give birth.

Dr Frank Goeritz said the latest hormone test pointed to August 31 as the day she is due to deliver - a Sunday - as P-Day - when Edinburgh Zoo is most likely to celebrate the arrival of a panda cub.

At what point do they ask the Chinese for their money back? What's the warranty on a Panda?

Not very long at all. Bear minimum, I suspect.

    Perhaps...

If so, there will be more pandas in Scotland than?

For the last few years, I've been claiming Tian Tian is dead. (Seriously, when's the last time anyone saw her?)

If she has a cub, it would certainly put a dent in that theory!

Previous estimates suggested a live birth could be worth an extra £30 million, based on a 30 per cent increase in tourism.
