Panda biology definitely does not conform to the tourist season. Or anything else much. So the timing is co-incidental. If you really wanted to line the two up you would have cute bouncing baby pandas available for the tourists to view in August!

THE German scientist who artificially inseminated Edinburgh panda Tian Tian has revealed when she is set to give birth.
Dr Frank Goeritz said the latest hormone test pointed to August 31 as the day she is due to deliver - a Sunday - as P-Day - when Edinburgh Zoo is most likely to celebrate the arrival of a panda cub.
