Inspired by a recent trip to Munich (bikes everywhere, never seen such a concentration of Brooks saddles), I'm going to make my continental trekking/utility-oriented Cube Central more town-use friendly.
TBH, it's largely there as it is - decent rack and panniers, mudguards, kickstand, wide range of gears, bell (although this is soon to be upgraded to a brass Crane Bell, acquired in Munich).
However, what it does lack is a chainguard to protect the trouser leg. I'd like to get a decent one (robust and aesthetically pleasing), but know nowt about them.
What can the CCE hivemind recommend? And what do I need to know? It all looks pretty simple, but there's bound to be a range of pitfalls...
