Only concession made to weather so far has been putting a vest on when it looks a bit nippy, and tucking a pair of arm warmers in the back pooch. Otherwise it's short sleeve top and shorts.

This is of course because I went round the shops last Monday assembling my wet and cold weather 2010 collection, which has been sitting in a drawer ever since...

Today it was too cold for shorts... Only found that out when I got the zoo and hadn't warmed up! Rain wasn't too bad but that head wind, jeez!

It was only a little bit rainy this morning, but enough that I eschewed fleece for waterproof, and wore my longs instead of just shorts. Head wind come home time, I'm sure. :-/

Yes, the strong easterly must have been a shock to some this morning.

Due to swing to SE this afternoon.

Longs, full finger gloves, waterproof, booties, skullcap and lowlight glasses lenses today :(

It's looking promising for an evening ride though.

  11. Waterproof jacket and cap went on this morning. Still in the 3/4 troos (but then I'll still be in those all winter as well) - bit damp, it's the encroaching cold you can start to feel though.

And that wind was a pain getting home last night - looks like the same again tonight.

Took the car today. Wife in London and I was dropping tot off at nursery (going to fit a child seat next spring and take my share of the runs).

It was horrible, nothing worse than being trapped in non moving traffic in a steamy car. Ick.

The head-gale last night was horrendous tho.

Nice day out here (West End)

    Hasn't rained for hours.

    Ooops just felt 3 spots.

    Not particularly windy.

Though it might be getting stronger again.

    Strange stuff this weather forecasting...

I thought it was a bit breezy this morning - observation at Gogarbank when I finally escaped the A8 and got into the office = 29mph

it's okay one the way back you'll get the time back so it will be like tomorrow, yeah? It's like flying from Auckland to LA, you arrive two hours before you leave Auckland.

I am not liking the equinoctal winds. Especially as yesterday morning the chilly headwind froze my face and yesterday evening the gusty headwind added 4 minutes to my commute.

I went for lunch in a t-shirt as usual, enjoying the sunshine but in that sort of bittersweet "it won't be here for long" manner...

There have been a couple of manky mornings already where I wished for lights, bah.

Still, the novelty of riding in the dark usually gets me through the first few weeks before depression sets in!

ITs that moment when you realise that for a month you've been going to work in the dark and then back from work in the dark....

Hope it's still a West wind tomorrow morning, about 30 miles into work* to avoid the trains** and it wont be funny if it's into a headwind :-/
If I could book it to swing round to an Easterly in the afternoon that's be ideal though please ;-)

*nothing to most of you I know, but I'm unfit, ok! lol

**apparently someones priest is visiting so Central Scotlands transport network is to be closed?!

He's come to inspect the wonderful tarmac of Morningside, he hears that it's very good and worth coming all this way for

Had my first ride home in the dark tonight always feels much faster in the dark. Had to work late so stopped in at the chippy which probably helped my speed, didn't want my chips getting cold....
