I can make this semi regular last Friday of the month early breakfast coffee date if anyone else is available.
Post match analysis might be insightful?
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Or we could have a "don't mention the referendum" table for folk who want to talk about anything but? :-)
I haven't been for a while so I will try to make it this time.
@min, good suggestion
I'm not sure if I can make it, but would probably go for the "Don't mention the war referendum" corner if I do... ;-)
"corner"
IF there are two 'camps' I suspect the 'talk about it' one would be in the corner.
I hope a PoP date is decided soon - that should 'unify' political discussion/action.
Yeah, not sure I'm ready for PY yet.
I have some batteries to give away, ideally to whoever took the light I gave away before that slots onto your spokes, CR2016 I think. As they are the batteries I bought for that light. If that will entice anyone?
Sunrise 7:06
Looks like no rain and warm(ish).
Equinox therefore past and not noted
I'm happy to talk referendum (or not). I've no axe to grind with any of the fine folks of CCE, whichever way their votes swung. Maybe we could even talk about bikes too? Can't guarantee tiredness levels will allow it, but I'll make an effort to come along.
By way of a bump/incentive, I can no longer come as I have been unwell all week. :-(
Maybe next time.
I'll make it in. Is it ok if I wear my 'No Thanks' tee shirt? ;O)
Have a work networking thing I have to attend. Worse coffee but possible free cake...
Is it ok if I wear my 'No Thanks' tee shirt?
Only if I'm forewarned enough to wear my "Yes Please" one to bring balance and harmony to the universe. Or PY at least.
"to bring balance and harmony to the universe."
Balance perhaps, not sure about harmony
You may wear whatever tee shirt you please, so long as you wear something else over the top of it. May I suggest a nice hi-vis jacket?
;-)
(Please do not take this post seriously...)
Balance perhaps, not sure about harmony
If we learned nothing else from the terrible Star Wars prequel its that balance isn't all its cracked up to be if you're a Jedi.
The force isn't strong with me. No matter how much I use my mind to ping cars away from me when on the bike it doesn't work.
I have taken the Naw stickers off my pannier but the one on my helmet is stuck. Was told to F off last Weds. as I cycled up The Pleasance. Possibly linked to the stickers. I will have a go with a scouring pad before tomorrow
Next month the last Friday is very close to the fifth year anniversary of this forum. Put that in your diary.
@gembo
Alas, I shall probably be abed when I would need to be heading to PY. Note however that tonight I will make Gembo's Patent Pea and Pesto Potage.
We'll also need to meet and return DVDs? Madame IWRATS declared Early Doors not to be to her taste (too British, ironically) but I enjoyed it a lot. I'll polish off disc two tonight.
Where was everyone? I was there approx 7:45 to 8:15 and had a nice conversation with fimm who'd arrived before me.
Looks like the 2 sittings didn't overlap.
I was there 8.15-9.15 with Gembo and Morningsider and latterly Chdot.
I was very late - caught chdot just as he was about to leave.
lovely morning though
Over slept...
Perhaps 'real life' also stopped while the CCE site was down...?
good to meet hankchief for first time, would like to see him pedalling the Helios from the back seat, looks possible
also to catch up with Morningsider and CHdot - I await the conclusion to the polis and the schoolride tale. I had a much nicer flat white yesterday in The Fruitmarket Gallery. If going there, make sure you take the lift. Martin Creed has been in there (aurally) and so has Jim Lambie (floor-ally).
@IWRATS I greatly enjoyed L'homme du train. It was very French but I like that. Will start carrying it in pannier until we meet again
@gembo
Likewise. I'll also pack my slippers and a nine mil.
Thanks @IWRATS, anyone with a knowledge of the movie L'homme du train will know what the slippers and nine mil refer to.
Good to meet you amir.
I nearly tried to talk to a group of strange men until I spotted that they were speaking German... they went off not long before amir got there.
