I just wired a new Kemo power supply unit into my dynamo on the bike. Great, now I can charge my mobile on the move!
It claims to be able to handle high voltages (70v) for those Weeee down hill bits and it water repellent if mounted in the right orientation but I think I shall keep it in a waterproof tribag. I took my bike for a spin and around 9mph it charges my phone. Its quite bulky but the electronics are potted (a potting compound sets round the components to keep them from rattling and keeps moisture away. There are open holes underneath where the wires go in and the USB connects and surprisingly on the 'top' where an LED pokes through, so I definitely think I'll be keeping it in a waterproof bag.
