CAFFEINE!!!!!
I drink decaf usually - so after two proper coffees, I'm feeling a little bouncy.

I spotted pastries I have yet to try necessitating a return visit.

So... who was all there?

It's a military secret... I could tell you but I'd have to kill you ;-p
But there were "eight at eight" ;-)
I spotted straaaaange bicycles :-)

I didn't spot any strange bikes - but Dave, LaidBack and Arellcat all seemed to arrive floating on a cushion of air, which was rather cool.

Ahhh but I am a trained observer and can see the invisible ;-D
(Especially invisible things fitted with easy rider chopper type handlebars :-o)Posted 14 years ago # -
Laidback's cushion of air instantly pulled a small crowd.

I don't normally drink coffee habitually, especially that early, but it was rather welcome in the chill of MMW. I saw strange bicycles, too, all with little leather perches and you have to ride them while leaning forward on your arms. They look very uncomfortable! :>

*I* spotted someone coming past on a Brompton with a rather eye-catching dynamo light (looked a bit like an E6) nestling under the front basket...

:-) Was nice to put some faces to names anyway, though I'll have forgotten who's who by the next time I meet everyone of course!

I think someone here might knows who that 'someone' is.
I spotted a teenage girl with a Dawes Duchess looking for money from her dad.
Good to meet you all.

That's the problem with being spotted in PY - you can't pretend you're destitute...

Dunno, I have at least one colleague who insists vehemently that he is both time and money poor, despite the fact that I see him outside there more often than his office :)

SRD and I can have our own wee Angle Park Terrace meet at the Caley can't we?
Do you still want dry stairwell storage for bike?Posted 14 years ago # -
Can i come? I pass by there most mornings (well close by any way)... :D
Besides i prefer beer to coffee.

Yup! anyone else on? Unfortunately the cycle parking is not good, but otherwise venue has much to recommend it.

Dunno. Benign neglect seems to be working okay at present...

Too many breakfasts there and you could be :-))

I spotted 7 other heads turning every time something went past that sounded like it might have 2 wheels and a chain drive.
I could quite happily stayed for another half hour and was sorry I had to rush off early, but I only just made it across town in time to be 10 minutes late at my desk...
Laidback's cushion of air instantly pulled a small crowd.
Arriving by pulling the recumbent equivalent of a handbrake turn possibly helped matters

Sorry to have missed this - couldn't get out the house in time :-( I cycled past about 9.15 but everyone had gone. The only evidence of a meet-up was a smashed up bottle of Buckfast and empty packet of B&H nearby. :-)

"smashed up bottle of Buckfast and empty packet of B&H nearby"
That's the problem with recumbent riders - things fall out of pockets more easily.

I wasn't, but then again, I'm currently stuffing myself with camembert, duck pate, sausage, bread and pistachio puddings. Noms.

we should start flash mobbing various caffs on our bikes. Like a Critical Mass Coffee Morning.
Caley Sample Room is close to my work but I fear it is not a morning place

I think spytfyre and I were thinking of a post-work option.
Posted 14 years ago # -
Yes I think there was a consensus that it was well within our organisational capacities to arrange both AM caffeine and PM alcohol meetings.
Friday's ratio was 3 recumbimentalists, 1 fixie, 1 single speed, 3 "normal" bikes

Post-work is good, I tend not to drink and cycle but I could have a ginger beer shandy (traditionally made from deuchars and ginger beer but these days could easliy be Kaliber and Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger beer, but that would be hoorible)

Mmmm Caley 80' :-D

I think I shall be sitting outside Peter's Yard enjoying a coffee and a pastry at about 10 to 8 on Friday morning if anyone cares to join me (weather = dry, mild (for the time of year), cloudy, windy from the South)

As in tomorrow? Should really go to the gym but...
