Just a note to let everyone know it might be worth being on the lookout for thrown stones just now - not just on paths but also on major roads.
Tuesday night my other half was near Meadowbank and observed a group of kids (3?, very roughly about 11yrs old, about 19:00) throw a stone at someone cycling past on the main road.
Just one of those things perhaps... but...
Wednesday night (day after), Gilmerton Road, she was actually hit on the leg by a thrown stone. She says that it was painful, but she is glad it hit her leg rather than the spokes or her face. She was at speed, downhill, in heavy traffic. About 3 kids, very roughly 11yrs again, time about 18:00. No idea if it was the same kids, but very different place.
One of her colleagues mentions recently seeing stones thrown at buses...
Could this have become a bit of a fashion all of a sudden?
