    Hank
I'm setting off at 1230 Sunday lunchtime.
Aiming for a slightly more relaxed approach as I'm in the 116 hour group.
I'll be staying in that there London for a day or two after the ride and making a leisurely return to Auld Reekie over the weekend.
Look out for me as we pass, you'll be heading south at breakneck speed and I'll be pootling north at a somewhat more sedate pace.
    Bon courage.

Do you still need your bike taking down to London for LEL?
I'm leaving on Friday morning so you'll need to drop it off with me before then.

Like Hank Chief I setting off to try and complete LEL.

Unlike HC I am taking a more relaxed approach to the ride as I have no time pressures other than to finish in the 116 hr time limit.

Setting off at 1230 on Sunday. Live tracking via http://www.londonedinburghlondon.com and search Rider Number Y25

If you'll now forgive me here's the plug.
I'm riding for Cancer Research UK and in memory of, Edinburgh resident & keen cyclist, Dee Clark who recently died of cancer.

To find out more or to offer any support please visit my Every Day Hero fundrasing page.

Thanks for taking my bike Cliff (long story - don't ask).

You're tantalizingly close to your fund raising target for a worthy cause. Hopefully you can get over the line...

Currently going through my packs again, triple checking I have what I need, but nothing more...

That's me set. Got my bike from Cliff who even gave a lift to my hotel to avoid a drenching.

Lots of riders from UK and overseas around and the registration as well as loads of cheery volunteers

Weather looks 'interesting' - regular showers and a side wind - ho hum...

Please excuse me if I'm not on Social Media much during the ride - I'll probably priorise Twitter as 140 characters is probably all I'll be able to manage and can put up pictures easily.

All going well I might see those of you volunteering in Edinburgh sometime Monday night/ Tuesday morning.

It's very interesting to see the tracking data. There are big differences in sleep strategy already. The site gives the hours in hand. Some seem to have entered the starting pen in London but not left. I hope that's just an electronic gremlin

Not sure that Pith Helmwet is gonna help Suir Wobbly? He has no kit on his Pashley Guv'nor. In contrast HankChief is all saddlebags, framebags etc I know who my money is on.

Whilst Hankchief was in the sleep control for about 6 hours another friend was in for less than 2 hours.

The Edinburgh control is really well organised. Many kudos to cyclops. Has to be cope with all the participants who could arrive in big clumps. Makes it easier for the volunteers

Based on audax experience, I'm not surprised that it is a well run ship - it's something I would have loved to have helped with, but with us having house guests the entire time and today being micropaddy's birthday, it wasn't going to be an option...

The bulk of riders have yet to come in. They're going to love the Edinburgh August weather.

I briefly thought that half of Midlothian had decided to start commuting by bike as I waited to turn onto Lasswade Road.

Some were even smiling managing not to grimace, despite just getting absolutely drenched and having cycled 700km.
