    @CycleAlex

    The reporter is also allowing the council to present supporting evidence from Spokes in lieu of them being able to present at the hearing

    I heard that somewhere else but where is that documented?

    @Stickman Scares me just how much this must be costing the council all for 7 objectors...

    @CycleAlex - thanks for that.

    @CycleAlex: I think there are around 50 objections on the list of documents; it’s only seven who are actually turning up to the hearing.

    Is the “Rejuvenating Roseburn” consultation report published anywhere? I can’t find it on the council website.

    I have sent you a soft copy of the report - quicker than finding on line...

    RSO/TRO hearings will be taking place on the 4th and 5th November in the European Room at City Chambers. Perhaps some of the objectors are Brexiteers and won't attend out of disgust of the room.

    "The Reporter does not take the view that it is part of his role to question the representativeness of the duly elected Murrayfield Community Council"

    Does that mean PG is objecting as an MCC member?

    If so, is he representing the views of (the majority of) MCC members?

    I believe PG is objecting on behalf of his "Roseburn Vision" front group.

    @CycleAlex - correct.

    One of the few successes from many hours at MCC is convincing the chair that PG's vision is materially different from MCC's official line so that he cannot represent MCC.

    On a different note, does anyone know how long it takes for Ministers to decide whether to hold a hearing for an RSO?

    That's all that's holding up section 2 at the moment. Would an email to my MSPs help at all?

    So are other MCCers and/or MCC as an organisation actually objecting?

    CycleAlex - Ministers have hee-haw to do with it. All the administration is handled by the civil servants at the DPEA (confusingly the Planning and Environmental Appeals Division - the acronym is from its previous incarnation). The biggest factor in such delays is the number of Reporters available (or not). I suppose an email wouldn't hurt, but unlikely to have much effect.

    @Morningsider Well that's just depressing. I got it into my head the format for this was different to the section one objections.

    Guess I better go back to my previous idea of building the contraflow at Rutland Square myself.

    They are still objecting as a group, with the chair representing it.

    Since the section 2 RSO hasn't appeared on the DPEA website yet, does that mean the council are yet to submit it or is it just waiting for a reporter?

    “Their written statement can be found here”

    Most of it sounds very PG.

    MCC clearly not pleased about being called unrepresentative:
    "Dear Jane
    Having sought counsel and opinion MCC request that Keith Munro's representation is removed from the
    case documentation and the website. The Reporter has ruled correctly that he is not part of that process
    having objected to neither the TRO nor the RSO. The hearing is limited to objections to specific parts of
    those Orders. His comments re MCC are irrelevant.
    Thank you in advance for your assistance with this request"

    Reporter declined their request. The representation in question: http://dpea.scotland.gov.uk/Document.aspx?id=625499

    The petition calling for an independent air study will be considered at Transport Committee next week. After his last performance will the visionary be allowed in?

    Everyone's favourite gas mask wearer will be holding a 'rally' outside City Chambers before Transport & Environment Committee on Thursday. http://www.kidsnotsuits.com/roseburnvision/ (view at your own risk.)

    @CycleAlex - is there a quorate for a rally? 3 blokes with placards would fall below it, surely.

    Also, why the pic of the bloke sitting on a bike in his tiny shop? Impractical, at the very least.

    I sat in Vigo's on Friday and observed Roseburn Terrace, which on the whole is in a reasonably prosperous state. Pharmacy in new premises, new mobile phone place, certainly unlike the apocalyptic vision on leaflets.

    BACKGROUND

    There has been huge opposition to the CCWEL scheme: 6,000 signed a petition opposing the track in 2016, of whom at least 300 were cyclists. Kids not Suits organised the protest

    At least it’s good to have EVIDENCE!

    “6000” “signed” his first petition.

    Less than 200 have signed this one.

    Clear evidence that opinion has changed and the project has widespread local support.

    9. ISSUE 8 – CYCLISTS’ CLOTHING
    9.1 While not relevant to the Redetermination Order and the TRO, the Council notes the concerns raised about the clothing used by cyclists. The Council has a ‘Drive Safe Cycle Safe’ campaign which aims to improve cyclist safety by raising awareness of a number of issues, including the importance of being seen when cycling.

    Er, I would have thought that safe segregated bicycling infrastructure means there need be less concern about the sartorial choices of peoples riding bicycles, not more?

    Hmmmm, not totally convinced by the logic there.

    Still PG may be less of a signature-magnet than he used to be.
