Just heard from the DPEA that the RSO and TRO reports have been submitted to Ministers and CEC respectively. Won't be published online until a decision is made by Ministers.

Do the ministers have to make a decision in a set timescale or can they just sit on it and hope it goes away?

No set timescale - although something relatively minor like this shouldn't take too long (which could be anything from a couple of weeks to several months).

    "something relatively minor "

Tsk. Don't you know this is end of days for Roseburn...

Oh, wait. It's just a cycle path for a few hundred metres. As you were.

You could probably FOI it but I imagine CEC would be pushing for a decision before for this months extra T&E committee. Previous decision times for big roads projects seem to have taken a few months though.

I imagine the report isn't published right away to stop people attempting to influence SG's decision whether to go with the recommendations.

Noticed that the first part of the York Place cycleway has been surfaced. Oddly though, the side next to the pavement is kerb separated but the side next to the road is flush with the kerb. I think there will also be guardrail here.

At least if you drift to the side with a 'forgiving' kerb you have a chance to swerve back. Not so much if you smash into some guardrail...

old news but here you go

The Council has now received the Report of the Public Hearing sessions into the Traffic Regulation Order, and this will be reported to the Transport and Environment Committee next Friday, 20 March. You will be able to find the Committee Report, including the Reporter’s Recommendation, on the Council’s website here, from Friday 13 March 2020.

The Council has also been notified that the report from the Public Hearing sessions into the Redetermination Order has been circulated to Scottish Ministers. Once the Minister has reached their determination they will publish this.

@Stickman - Gembo may have his own sources of information but I got an email earlier saying the same thing. Says that it was sent to anyone who commented on the TRO.

    One last delay(?)

Committee papers are being published on Monday, as committee is on Friday 20 March.

Aren’t papers always published in the week of committee?

I think it's normally Friday for transport committee, but the meetings are normally on a Thursday.

As she points out it's not really a delay - but the email from the officer (erroneously) promised it today!!

    All cancelled?

All other meetings are still showing on the calendar. Perhaps TEC meeting is being postponed, or perhaps there's been an admin error whilst they were updating the page?

Council recess brought forward to start on Friday, so TEC meeting has been postponed.

I'm not sure where this leaves CCWEL.

Perhaps nature simply is not willing to allow CCWEL to exist.

Had anyone checked that the council's cycling network plans don't form a pentagram or something?

Nature abhors a segregated cycle lane on a main road.

The segregated bit on south side of York Place coming along nicely

@IWRATS - Nature may abhor a segregated cycle lane on a main road, but Nature also giggles incessantly at the idea of one crossing tram tracks at an acute angle.

It seems there are plans for some form of temporary layout as part of CCWEL. Perhaps for sections yet to be built, so as to make the built sections usable?

The TRO/RSO for Section 3b is planned for May/June-July/August. Perhaps I'm reading too much into a small appendix table but I'm slightly concerned as to why there needs to be anything else to do with TRO/RSOs for section 1 and 2. Unless, of course, news was not positive from the DPEA/Scottish Ministers.
