Where do we complain about the layout? The exit from Roseburn Cliff is bleedin’ dangerous. There is no indication of who has priority & cars are just shooting out across the path from a blind exit.

“Where do we complain about the layout?“

I think Chair of Murrayfield CC lives up the Cliff.

They aren’t the ones who can do anything about it though. Is there a council/ project management dept I can contact?

Happy to raise with the project manager via Spokes if you'd like? Do you have any photos?

The plans show give way markings there - have these not been put in?

@frenchy. I’ll go & check , but the Give way line as per the plans is too far back on exit to help. It needs to be right next to the path. The Give way lines between the road and the path are in place, but they only stop cars turning into the cliff.

    https://theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2023/06/formal-opening-of-new-community-cafe-in-roseburn-park-this-weekend/

“The plan is for the new operator to sell hot drinks, snacks and ice cream and endeavour to keep it open as much as possible throughout the year, making the toilet generally available for park visitors. FoRP knows from the Council’s footfall recording device that 1,800 pedestrians and 450 cyclists use the park every day, and believe that the café will attract even more users to enjoy the park, thus helping to make the cafe a year-round going concern.”

    Good luck to them.

The new Rosebean cafe had an official opening today, which was very well attended. The cafe is only a room with toilets now, and the operators of the Dower House cafe will start running it in late summer. The Dower House cafe in Corstorphine is very nice - they have a cargo bike which Spokes partially funded.

Seen the queues when I ran past. Don't suppose it opens at 8 on a Friday?

Ha, instead of taking some mad route behind the bins at Tescos? What a contrary little Fokker.

He did go behind the bins at Tesco but after that was on the route.

He's probably ashamed to be seen riding through Roseburn.

On a positive note, we popped in to the dog shop (Bona Fide, which has taken over from House of Hound) on Friday. Afterwards we wanted to sit in for a coffee, but all the cafes (Hordeum, Vigo, Roseburn Cafe) were completely full. There weren’t many vehicles stopped on the Terrace, so who knows how the customers got there.

@Stickman - yeah, Roseburn Village thrives pretty well. The cafes are all different, and good in their way.

You can get a coffee from Dine as well.

The landscaping around the old bridge looks good. I feel quite proud of the place.

Only the planters lost a lot of plants in the June drought. I think the person who used to water them has moved.

    The experts are back -

If this proposal is implemented it will increase traffic in Coates Gardens by an estimated 87 per cent.

I think everytime someone complains about three made up figures showing an increase in traffic the council should close the road. An instant solution to both their hypothetical problem and the real one.

I would love to know where they’ve magically picked 87% from. The proposed arrangement is essentially already in operation as part of the ongoing roadworks and there doesn’t seem to be chaos.

Anyway, railings are going up on York Place. Once these are complete in the next week or so, section three should be complete and open for use.

PG popped up at a protest I was at last night I called him out for being a cycling anti cyclist. He remained silent. I then called the subject of the protest a w@#$&*. Then went to wash dinner plates in a very fast running stream with an ex colleague from my Muirhouse days. Earlier in the dream there had been loads of off road cycling but the stream in spate prevented that and then I woke up and sh1t.
