Most bus bridge bashing happens when the bus us either not on the regular route, or a decker is subbed for a regular bus, and driver us on auto-pilot. Fauldhouse us at the extremities of the local routes, (27?) and the old first bus route normally headed back over to Harthill before running in via Whitburn.
Interesting to note the new coaches on the Linlithgow & Bathgate (Green Arrow branding - Annandale Street registered operating address) and also sporting Scottish Citylink 'joint working' branding. Mid-point wheelchair lift, but also hold space. Not sure if West Lothian Buses had retained SMT CoC (Clause 7(d)), or Citylink (Clause 56) can be cited when putting a bike on the coach. Must surely only be a matter of time before West Coast Motors reprise their Argyll joint working with Citylink on some Borders routes. Perhaps Peebles/Biggar-Gyle/Airport & interchanges with AIR/900 services.
Whilst RAIB reports are mainly linked back to ORR for regulatory action, they can also inform HSE, and there may be a case if a clear connection can be proven to driver fatigue or a relayed Section 2 liability. But that's likely to be mighty tenuous.I'll start a thread on the report though, expect some changes to the crossings based on the recommendations, and clear note that no changes were made in the layouts when the busway (30mph?) was converted to a tramway (up to 50mph?) with very different stopping performance, and noise profiles?
