This is undoubtedly true. The obvious solution is a refillable stainless steel capsule.

Re that 125ml flask, it's got one of those pouring tops that's heat-efficient but tricky to clean, esp with milk. I'd sooner go for the 200ml one with simpler lid.

I have an aeropress. Much less mess and better coffee than a cafetière. For the office I order ground coffee from the internet.

At home I use beans and have a cheap chopper thing to grind them as needed.

Agreed re: coarse ground coffee. (Admission: I often prefer coffee from a press. Shame shame etc.) Maybe time to start grinding own beans (perhaps even with a hand grinder!)

Oh I have one of those (the 200ml). It fits in a pocket and is much less wasteful than a full sized flask where I end up pouring out some of the coffee by the end of the day anyway.

Dear comrades, here is a tip I share with you if you drink black coffee and like a crema. This can be got from a French press. Make the coffee. Let it brew. Plunge. Then before pouring lift the lid a little so that when you pour the coffee out it is not touching the lid in any way. Careful not to spill. The first and sometimes second cup poured will have a nice crema. I do like a crema

My Italian uncle in law was maître d' in some swanky hotels. He has a stove-top Bialetti with a fancy crema adaptor that looks like a silencer for a gun and uses some secret roast that he will not tell me about. He also has a special skill that he not only knows what you will like to eat he also knows exactly how much of it you will eat without you saying a word.

@iwrats, these skills of your uncle Italian in law if that is a relation? Are super powers let's not beat abut the bush, I repeat super powers.

With the stove top the whole process is a joy, the crema is there in the top chamber but even if you lift the lid when the contact is made with the lip of the spout of the jug it vanishes. I crave crema.
