Meant to post this at the end of May -

@earthowned what are your picks for this year? Just curious ;)

@SRD I've taken the liberty of creating a league.
League Name: CCEdinburgh
League Code: 692006453111Posted 8 years ago # -
Thanks twq! (Just realised this means I need to come up with a team name,,.)

@SRD remember no funny foreign letters - è, é, ê etc.
Found that out too late...Posted 8 years ago # -
I've put a holding team in place but might change it closer to the time.
For those new to the game the link is:http://www.velogames.com/

useful?
In order to maintain my almost complete lack of knowledge of TdF riders, I made sure not to read it before picking my team. :-)

I see mrgembo'steam is currently top. Though now my own team is hidden to me. How odd. Mr Wingpig strategy of only using 92/100 available points is interesting

Strategy?

Man, bam right down the league now
Posted 8 years ago # -
I'm in. For all the good it ever does me.

When picking rides I went with those not yet confirmed as dopers. And / or not Chris Froome.
Haematocrit level of 49 can only be obtained from eating steaks from Alberto contador 's butcher. But 50 is what makes you a doper.

Some editing of my team has been required before the start...

In. Based solely on names I vaguely recognise, and a realisation that last year's plan of picking a few big hitters and filling up the rest of the team with spoons may not have been as effective as a decent quality of folk across the entire team.

Oh go on then - I'll break my posting duck by announcing my joining the league...
Posted 8 years ago # -
the SRD household is celebrating our 1,2,3 and, ahem, MrSRD's honourable 8th place :)

Nasty pile-up a couple of hundred yards from the finish. I heard that Contador was taken out by a rider behind.
Posted 8 years ago # -
The SRDs love a Cav
Posted 8 years ago # -
@gembo true but with a win like that, can you blame us? We'll drift down as they hit the hills, most likely.
Microsrd didn't have Cav, but still 3rd ! More strikingly, he's jettisoned Nibali, who used to be his fave.

I went with cav previously but noticed that greipel used to hang behind him and pounce at the end so switched to the gorilla. Should have stuck with the Manx man.
Posted 8 years ago # -
Not updated but I never go with Sagan. He gets by nicely without my kiss of death. But that is cav who has been off the boil and then sags who is usually second both winning
Posted 8 years ago # -
Two of my team did not even start. Last year at least I had only one drop out at beginning. Or was it drugs? Lars Boom?, this year Trentin and sty bar did not start. Hey ho
Posted 8 years ago # -
Updated!
@gembo Saturday morning was the time for last minute swapsies
Posted 8 years ago # -
@srd if only I had spotted that I could have been up there in the lead with the SRD clan.
Posted 8 years ago # -
Am regretting doubting Cav as well here.
We did make it to the tour start - cycling the first 8km of the first stage in reverse on our shiny new Helios, first proper outing from R as the stoker, he did very well but some encouragement was needed as he nearly fall asleep as we returned chasing the tour back to our campsite.
