Cycled to the hub for 9.30. Tix released at ten. Nowhere to park bike as queue went right up to castle. I was prevented from chaining to railings at Ramsay gardens (not quite on castle esplanade but still checked). So bike joined queue. About fifteen minutes in to a very enjoyable wait where our queue ban jaxed the tourist/castle/ tattoo regulars I spotted a guy had chained his bike to a movable railing, next to where I had been prevented from chaining up. Then I spotted the official spotting it and he then moved bike and railing round the corner. Cyclist then spots his bike has gone, getting a bit angsty. Official says, yes wait until I deal with these customers. Official goes back in his booth. I point out to the cyclist where his bike is and he just rejoins the queue after checking it is ok. Official comes out booth and is nonplussed by the disappearance of the cyclist.
After I acquired my two tix I rejoined the queue and very nearly acquired another two but they ran out just as I got back down to the hub.
