I thought it worth posting a message about this short course we are running for women as part of Belles on Bikes Edinburgh. Last time I popped something up several people said it was really useful so info below if you are interested or know any female friends/family/colleagues that need a wee bit of support to get riding again or build confidence:
Cycling UK is running a series of free women's learn then ride sessions in Edinburgh in partnership with female cycling group Belles on Bikes Edinburgh.
This course is for women who are looking to gain more skills and confidence on their bike and will be delivered in a safe, off-road environment at the Bangholm Outdoor Centre in Trinity, Edinburgh.
These sessions are free to attend, but we do ask that you attend all three in order to get the best out of the course and progress your skills and confidence. You have the choice of attending three morning or three afternoon sessions.
Free bike hire is available if required.
Session are delivered in the following 2 hour slots:
1. Basic Bike Skills and Cycle Safety Check
Saturday 18 February
10 am - 12pm / 1pm - 3pm
2. Road position and signals
Saturday 25 February
10 am - 12pm / 1pm - 3pm
3. Journey along local quiet streets and cycle paths
Saturday 11 March
10 am - 12pm / 1pm - 3pm
If you're looking to get back on the bike after a long break or build confidence, this course is for you. Please note this course is not suitable for women who do not know how to cycle. Delivered by female cycle trainers.
