    Folks,

That time of year has rumbled round again when we need to assemble a corps of riders true and strong. PoP is only allowed on condition that it should have adequate marshals. To my knowledge there has never been any incident to deal with, and that's largely down to ARobComp's forward planning and the participants' good humour and good sense. However, we do need volunteers.

    What do you get?

A blue hiviz vest, a briefing and a task. The task will be ushering polite people along and possibly asking pedestrians to be patient. Also, notifying the boss marshal of any incident by telephone.

When do you have to be there?

There will be a briefing, probably half an hour before kick-off. If you're doing a feeder ride that's fine. An e-mail briefing will also be available.

    How do I sign up?

    PM me your e-mail address.

Don't be shy - we need twenty or so people and it's very satisfying being part of the delivery team for Scotland's nicest demonstration.

"once I've ushered the Harrison Park ride into the Meadows"

Probably more intense than marshalling the full PoP!

    Huppity bump.

Roll up, roll up, don't be shy it's just a fluorescent tabard and a feeling of doing the right thing....

Count me in, if I don't have other duties (worrying??) on the day. Also I think some of the Glasgow folk are planning on coming over and helping out - I'll get them to email you to confirm

Folks, there remain many unfilled sky-blue tabards. Be not shy - this is rewarding, necessary and actually highly amusing.

If you're planning to attend (and who among us isn't) then you can maybe think about marshaling too?

I filled out the marshal form a while back but haven't heard back - wondering if something went astray?

The eh, what? Who knew there was one of those? You are duly deputised.

Form? Online email thingy? I know I filled something out and clicked "send"!

Should I now expect an email with instructions?

You'll get a copperplate letter on velum from me. Hand delivered by a badger wearing a Glengarry.

(I was unaware of any online form. Nobody never mentioned it.)

I will leave a comment there - it could be the form is malfunctioning...

Meanwhile, I will await this postbadger with anticipation.

Ah, this is the problem with multiple pops. The form was set up by the Glasgow mob who are largely coordinating things on Slack whereas IWRATS communicates solely through this forum and possibly also interpretive dance. I will try and join the ends together

@IWRATS - can you add me to the "Only if desperately needed" list? Will be helping organise a feeder ride, and frankly that's more responsibility than I should be given for one day already. But if really needed, I can help.

Ask Madame IWRATS nicely and she'll show you the video of me dancing in a B&B in Revelstoke.

If I have to wear a tabard and speak to people to enable it to go ahead with police blessing then I can, as long as it was in a way compatible with concurrent 6yo-wrangling.

Grand, cheers. Speech-free and child-friendly positions very much available.

Can you PM me a suitable email address?

I'm already helping with the Harrison Park Feeder Ride. Also happy to help with the main ride - provided compatibility with me being on the Tandem with a 5 and 3 year old.

We're still looking for marshals for Glasgow (the council's requirements are pretty stringent). If you are planning on doing POP in Glasgow or know anyone who could help could you point them at this form please

    https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxidsb8RSSMDLTKIPP8l9xD0WvH5YcHBa8aLoMD7WisXqXqw/viewform

Otherwise we risk having to cap numbers for the Glasgow POP, which would tend to negate the whole point

    Call to action accepted...

I'll run a feeder ride to Glasgow leaving Cramond Brig at 8.30am to take anyone who is able to Marshall the Glasgow ride.

More details later tonight once all the eggs have been found...
