Tour of Britain 2017

    Rumour has it that the Tour of Britain is going to start in Edinburgh this year (Sunday 3 Sept).

    Route to be announced at 6pm today, probably here.

    That ties in with the deal that CEC did with BC that they would either get a stage start/finish or a Tour Series event in any given year. No Tour Series, so ToB stage start.

    Cumbria County Council did a similar deal so, as there isn't a Tour Series event there this year, there should be a Lake District stage, presumably on the Monday (or Tuesday, if the Northumbrians have stumped up as well).

    Here's the route. Edinburgh to Kelso on Sunday 3rd September.

    I sit corrected - no Lake District stage this year, day two is in Northumberland.

    Maybe alert the crowds so they can wait and cheer on the Audaxers and Sportifs later in the day.
