I have a lot of time for Paisley dwellers.

The St Mirren fans were great yesterday at Easter Road. Glad their team were not relegated.

They deserve huge praise for not taking the easy route following one or other of the ugly sisters from Glasgow.

@nelly, Paisley dwellers are called Buddies? Prosaically from Body as in Gin a body meet a body comin through the rye.

    Body - somebody, anybody, nobody.

Well that seems to be the root

My old man when he ran the golf course near Neilston (nearish Paisley) had a green keeper that worked with him called Peter Weir. He played for Neilston Juniors then signed for St Mirren then Aberdeen, a cultured outside wing forward.

Came across a tweet about there being a whole mess over a new cycleway potentially being built in Paisley (as per). Looked at the plans and what on earth is this? How are we designing this give-way nonsense when Cycling by Design 2021, LTN 1/20 and the new Highway Code exist?

A consultation was launched earlier this month on plans to regenerate the Paisley street

You really can't win with these types eh - no limits on access to vehicles and *more* parking spaces, yet still bleating about how it'll "kill the street" to put in a minimum-width bidirectional cycle lane and narrow a couple of crossings.

Active travel cash being flushed down the pan again! Who would use a cycle lane which requires you to give way at multiple side streets? Inconvenient and probably more dangerous than sticking to the carriageway.

Actual professionals created and signed-off these designs!

As much as I love new cycleways being proposed and built, it’s infuriating that some random nerd has to tell professionals to use their own guidance…
