There is a wealth of evidence that the social and physical environment influences health and wellbeing outcomes. The places in which we live and spend time influence health outcomes and contribute to increasing or reducing health inequalities. Individuals living in areas of deprivation are more likely to be exposed to environmental factors that contribute to poorer health outcomes, such as poor air quality, and less likely to be exposed to environmental factors that improve health outcomes, such as natural space.
