    @Hankchief hope my outdoors turbo session didn't wake you. We've camped a few times with the beavers during lockdown but tonight we're in our bothy.

    I'm actually quite sad that this didn't happen. But it will do.

    Does anyone know at what phase in the lockdown reduction road map we'll be allowed to go camping?

    @steveo - it isn't clear. Phase 3 includes "Relaxation of restrictions on accommodation providers (including hotels, B&Bs and holiday homes)" but no mention of camping anywhere in the document, or going on holiday - which seems a bit of an oversight.

    I have been wondering what restrictions were placed on wild camping, and how we will know when they are lifted.

    @morningsider minor oversight, I'm sure no one is planning on getting away from their house after this.

    I always took the implicit restriction on wild camping to be under travel for exercise, there were a lot of people on the Pentlands Facebook group getting worked up that folk were camping up Bonaly, personally I'd have gone a bit further into the hills and you'd be vanishingly unlikely to meet anyone. Since it's not specified on the relaxation road map I'll assume that it's been relaxed when when can drive to the hills.

    Soooo looks like we might be released by the end of next month but just to be on the safe side, late August trip? Tents probably safer (for availability) than bothy.

    Thoughts?

    Happy to be outdoors with anyone who is health-aware and carries their own cup, which will be any of the O-Capables.

    How about the last weekend of August, the 31st is an English Bank Holiday but should be OK.

    It will maybe be best to go somewhere obscure. Thinking caps on?

    How about into the Borders? Reckon it will be quieter than Perthshire or the Highlands. Could we do something without using the train or driving?

    Mr fimm and I are certainly contemplating a local adventure on the assumption that going north will be busy. Lammermuirs, perhaps, for you folk? Make use of bits of the Capital Trail, invent your own bits?

    @Morningsider

    Yes. Day one of the Capital Trail demonstrated this nicely. But I am pining for the fjords I must admit.

    Just heading far enough west into the Pentlands should provide enough distance but yeah I also quite fancy getting far from home.

    Loch Treig is a fine loch, hermit density notwithstanding.

    Two options spring to mind;

    1) The Perthshire Glen Almond accessed from the Sma' Glen on the A822. Ordinaries can just ride in sling tent and get drunk. Hard-core can ride to Loch Tay, summit of Carn Ban an Fraoich etc. Not a known tourist destination.

    2) Glen Tilt, accessed from the A9 or by train from Blair Atholl. Known MTB destination because beautiful. I'm keen to see the geology at the head of the glen. Loop via Daldhu possible for the very hard core.

    Either of the middle weekends in August?

    Glen Tilt is a good shout I've been meaning to visit from the Blair Atholl side its one of the classic mtb routes.

    I can't do the 22nd I'm afraid. 15th or the 29th would be fine.

    15th August Glen Tilt? I have a couple of non-CCE oddballs may be keen. Will noise up @unhurt also.

    15th works for me, though I won't have the car so can't help ferrying though its not too bad a train journey.

    With so few folk likely to be taking international holidays this year, I can imagine most places in the north will be busy. Pentlands has been witnessing drunken party camping, poaching and wild parking of late, perhaps it will calm down a bit once folk can officially drive further than five miles, perhaps not. Certain parts of the Borders may be busy too.

    I think though the Borders are a safer bet for some tranquility. Personally, I shall be scouting for overnighter locations there ASAP.

    Best of luck to those planning a trek to Glen Tilt...
