    I have a midgie net or two I could lend - IWRATS is collecting a bike carrier so he could pick up at the same time. Other last minute camping sundries may be available too.

    @iwrats If I bring a straw can I use your adapted head net?

    @unhurt

    That would mean swilling your eyeballs in wine?

    Along with a carrier for @Morningsider's bike (complete with correct bolts - I checked and two long one short is correct!) @urcaidh also loaned me a headnet. CCE is, as I've said before, fantastic.

    midge headnet I have - bought for previous ventures into that area - never use (other than to scare mini-McR).

    @bax

    If God inhabits the stretch between Glenfeshie, Beinn Bhrotain and Braeriach that would explain a lot.

    I hope we can find a way to ride a couple of wild miles together some time. Trangia enthusiasts need to show solidarity.

    He said the burgers would be dipped in a coat of midges, like breadcrumbs, and a special secret ingredient added.

    How repulsive can an ingredient in a midge-coated burger be before they want to keep it secret?

    A teaspoon of Avon Skin-So-Soft.

    Skin-So-Soft tastes much worse than any water.

    Mealworms are one thing, but they don't tend to go round drinking blood then festering for a couple of days in a midge hoover.

    Top tip: if you can't get to sleep try to calculate the total mass of Highland midges using only numbers already present in your head.

    Secret message to all Capables;

    Make Sandwiches. Make Sandwiches.

    (Also look askance at that bit of your bike that you think will be fine but might not be.)

    For that reason I'm considering taking the cross bike, I've not used the mtb in six months...

    Inshriach Nursery cake shop is sadly no longer open. Think they are now concentrating on making fine gin.

    Any good reason not to just take the cross bike? Nothing terribly steep or rough? I'm managing to convince myself that I don't trust the mtb...
