I would have prefered the headline
"why cant other road users get on with cyclists..."

i also did not enjoy the quotes from Ian Taylor, director of the Alliance of British Drivers - especially
"Some cyclists are wilfully inconsiderate, acting as though laws are for everyone but them. Unfortunately, all drivers are not 'angels' either."

should the column have commented that when drivers are wilfully incosiderate and think the law does not apply to them people die or get seriously injured. that is not the case for cyclists, despite the recent horrendous press coverage and knee jerk reaction to the "no rear brake" incident, sad though it was, is a mere drop in the ocean compare to the problems faced day in day out by cyclists from other road users - and its because of the hightened awereness of cyclists when cycling that there are not more incedents involving pedestians and cars....

i also note in the column , they actually did not interview a single day-to-day cyclists for their opinion.

and finally, what about road closures for the london marathons, great north run , etc etc, do we get people throwing nails on those events....
