IWRATS you shall never experience the true moment of nirvana as the hipsters look at you drinking your espresso through your bripe and realise THEY'VE BEEN OUT-HIPPED

@wfb is this the bodum you have?

I have one and am unimpressed. It allows grounds into the coffee and isn't sealed so not much good as a travel mug.

I sometimes use it in the car but often make the coffee in another vessel first to ensure it's filtered.

I'll give another vote for the aeropress definitely inverted though.

@IWRaTS - your problem has been recruiting a foreign worker, whenever our hardpressed British urchin needs employment.

Don't forget to ensure a ration of alcohol to maintain the status quo - rum, gin, beer or ale are all traditional.

Anybody out-hipstered by me should take a long hard look in their artisanal mercury-silvered hand-blown looking glass.

I do like the idea of recruiting a British street Arab to make instant coffee with beer though. Sweetheart Stout perhaps?

    acsimpson,

Not exactly. It's a stainless steel version of that. We've got a couple of plastic ones without the press too.

That bripe thing goes with the device a friend has that looks like a mad scientist's distillation kit....
(... the mad scientist's distillation kit does make very pleasant coffee, I have to admit.)

My wife has the "tea" version too. It appears to be better than my coffee one. Perhaps I'll have to add the stainless one to a wishlist.

If a Bripe showed up on The Mighty Boosh it would be in the hands of Howard (mocked by Vince) though probably stolen from Naboo.

Back in the day I toyed with the idea of Soxhlet coffee and liquid nitrogen milkshakes. I could have been the founder of molecular gastronomy if I'd just had a bit of ambition.

And a burning desire to contribute nothing to humanity?

(I might have Opinions about molecular gastronomy. Knee-jerk and uninformed opinions, but quite satisfying. Unlike a molecularly gastronomic meal...)

  12. Nothing makes a better coffee than my Bialetti, but if I'm in a hurry then a nespresso machine does the job
