I am 'very hopeful', about getting permission that is. 'Moderately hopeful' about completion.
@Frenchy, No my mistake.
You ride from Brechin north to Edzell before following the B966 to Auchenblae where you climb up to Tewel. Ride the Flat road from Fettercairn to Auchenblae as the right turn off the B974 at Glensaugh/Clattering Brig has a steep climb up to the woods where there is a really lovely gentle roll all the way down to Auchenblae. Its the Steep climb up from Clattering Brig which is the pita.
As far as services.
Perth Tesco maybe 24 hour, and certainly the garage is.
Shop in Newtyle - day time only.
Forfar has McDonalds open for much of the day.
Brechin has shops/cafes garages late.
Edzel has 2 shops and a café.
Stonehaven has Shops, garage Curry House!!
It would just be a matter of timing. The midnight to 7am section would take us to Near Forfar. I'd recommend a large meal around 8pm, then a couple of starchy foods like sweet pancakes or Flapjack and mixed nuts to get you through the night. Tesco might be open early for drinks or snacks etc..
But you have to know that I cycled from Lochinvar to near Thurso by way of Durness between 6pm and 6am with only 6 slices of cheese and Pickle sandwiches, and a couple of chocolate bars.
At night you tend not to drink as much.

This looks great. If you don't mind I'd like to meet you at Inverkeithing High Street. Otherwise I'll be riding out to Cramond Brig and back. I'll work out a GPX file. I'll get in touch with the folks at Aberdeen PoP to see if I can get a route to follow into Aberdeen. Then we can work out a route home along a similar path, where I'd peal off at Inverkeithing.
From a purely selfish point I'd like to use this as a 400 DIY so I'd have to ensure the ride met those criteria. But don't worry folks! We have just under (like minutes) 28 hours to ride. So if you set off at 11pm from Cramond, then you would not have to be back until 7am Sunday morning!!
Usually a lazy 200km can be ridden in 12 - 13 hours, including leisurely brakes for food.
You'll have plenty of experienced rider who have hundreds of miles... kilometres under their belts and will know how to encourage and support you whilst you are in your doldrums. Plus Tangfantastics!! Who doesn't like a Tangfantastic at 3am in the pouring freezing rain. I'm under selling it I know. I'll leave it here.

DaveC, I'm sure you know POP in Aberdeen is on the Sunday and the 7AM return on Sunday morning is merely a typo.

Bear in mind that just getting to Inverkeithing is a 25km trip for some of us, though.
I think DaveC means you have until 7am Monday to be back.
Frenchy - this is payback for the Carlisle ride where you were home 15km sooner than some of us.
@Frenchy, if you want to take the train to Inverkeithing and not go for the 'audax points', I'd be very happy to entertain you while we waited for the group to arrive in Inverkeithing. Where are you riding in from?

Thanks, will bear that in mind. Coming from Gilmerton, so would need to get to Waverley anyway, by which time it's possibly not worth it.
No Waverley to Inverkeithing is not sniffing matter. Hop on a train, it will save you a ride out.

Fantastic day for the Scottish Borders Randonee. In fact by far the best of any rides I've done for this particular Audax organiser. And my performance revived hope that my speed is not totally disappeared due to ageing.
Route was Selkirk, Moffat, Tweedsmuir, Innerleithen, Heriot, Stow (with b***d Hill), Melrose, Small Holmes, St, Boswells, Selkirk.
The first few kilometres were dominated by finding a goldilocks group and staving off the ice cream headache. The latter returned on the descent to Grey Mares Tail. All was tinged with white with ice on the road. A girl from down south said it was the most beautiful road she'd been on.
From Moffat, the long slog over Beeftubs was accompanied by an illegitimate head wind as was the long descent.
Moving on I was really glad and a little surprised I made it up the Stow climb without stopping. Views up top spectacular with the snowy Cheviot behind the three peaks by Melrose. The worst bit of the ride was the long slig from St Boswells to the Linden antenna. Early season lack of long distance stamina.

Great ride Amir. Was checking you out zooming ahead on the Strava flyby. I also had a great day out but couldn't match your pace. Part excuse of being on gravel tyres but also well short of miles this year and carrying too much belly! Cured any ice cream heartache with an especially delicious ice cream in Melrose, which I'd well recommend.
Similarly found the climb from St Boswells a nightmare after not even suffering too much from Stow and up over Redpath.
Need to kick myself into shape pronto for the Easter Arrow on Friday.

At the moment, the regulations (http://www.aukweb.net/_resources/files/official/AUK_Regulations_050418.pdf) only mention this for Brevets Populaire (BP) events, which are generally 50km, 100km or 150km.
I think there was talk about allowing an e-bike category but I don't know where it got to. @cyclops may be able to say something on that.
There is a fundamental issue though, that non-assisted riders could get a benefit from drafting an e-bike.
There's nothing to stop someone just tagging along, though.
Indeed there isn't but organisers tend to get upset about that sort of thing. It's not considered polite. Audax events are run on a shoe-string.

I 'get' e-bikes from car substitute point of view but tricky from competitive sport surely unless in own event (then becomes battle of systems tech fest) Bike Works did have roadie guy with hidden motor. Cycling is often about 'the look'. He just wanted to continue riding on drops as before - ERC guy I think.
E-bikes max range on eco is 70km. So unless you had two batteries longer run is out. Most are big mountain bikes or the e-Trekking ones I have at shop. 23kg - as seen on Rhine Cycle way.
To do 100km with frugal battery use would be far harder than a non assisted bike.
If anyone wants to 'gen' themselves up on ebikes then have a shot on ours.
Bianchi do a road bike e bike - Impulso - with a claimed 200km range.
