Hi All,
on a variety of different posts some might know i had a spate of 7 punctures in about 1.5 weeks commuting to and from the Bay to Edinburgh.
I got some Durano Plus tyres for my main commuting bike, which were such a hard struggle i decided for my main road bike to not go down the same route - hence these Panaracer Flataways. 10quid each from online shop.
install was a doddle into the 25mm GP4000s i have - i took the tyre off the bike , laid it on the floor and simply unrolled the fluffy kevlar tape while removing the sticky back to it , initially pushing it around with my thumb and only concentratory type bit is to ensure its in the middle of the tyre...then after it was all around, pressed it hard around with fingers.
its extremely light and that worried me, but when i went to trim off the excess tape i realised just how tough it was , needing my exceptionally sharp stanley knife.
tyres back on the bike with inners and pumped to 90psi no probs. will take it for a spin tomorrow if i feel up to it (still lurgyfied) and will report back here any issues / punctures (noooo!) etc etc
