Good afternoon, @Iain McR.
As decreed over coffee earlier: is it not Your Turn This Time?
Venue preference privileges do come with the role of wrangler.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Stockbridge's finest tasseographer has been consulted, the following is date & location is deemed to be the most favourable:
WHEN: Monday 18th Dec
WHERE: The Bailie Bar, corner of St Stephen's & NW Circus Place.
In order to maintain a thin veil of democracy, pls see the doodle pool.
The Bailie is good, I used to dribnk there when lived near Stockbridge.
The Grey Horse, Balerno has a lovely wee stove that is new and toasty in its snug.
Obviously somewhere in between and less Mondayish might also garner more attendees?
yes, but its quite a busy time of year and short notice, most Thus, Fri and Sats will have been claimed - thought Monday had highest chance of success.
January Grey Horse drinks?
Bump
it lives ... we have a quartet or possibly a quintet
I'm assuming @jdanielp has bilocation powers.
(bump) Next Monday. More votes sought (we really want to know who is going shopping).
only 7 more sleeps.
Are we still going to The Bailie?
yes, unless there is a strong desire to go elsewhere
I am not the one trying to take tiny humans on the bevvy, so I am happy to go wherever.
The Bailie it is then - tiny people will not be in attendance.
One sleep till pints.
What time will this be? Doodle poll will not let me into calendar
Hmmm I'm not sure if the organiser actually set a time! @Iain McR - seven? Half seven?
1915!
I'm meeting a friend in a bar in Stockbridge on Tuesday and for that reason I'm ruling myself out of Monday night's conviviality.
If it goes so well you're all still out on Tuesday let me know and I'll meet him elsewhere.
going to be heading along, posting here so that it will be much harder to change my mind tomorrow if the weathers bad etc.
I think that I may have actually finished my shopping so I hope to be along tonight, but I've been very tired lately. Hopefully cycling again today will perk me up a bit.
As is the way at this time of year I'm double booked so can't make it.
Going to Traverse Bar - £11 for the Bevvy Sisters - was fun last year.

@Iwrats I assume the Stockbridge Control Committee only issue you with a limited number of entry visas?
@jdanielp I haven't done any shopping yet. Tuesday will be fun... (I am not very good at Christmas. It fills me with a sort of churning dread due to some past family disasters. And I didn't like it much even before that!)
A Sort of Churning Dread. Not a bad autobiography title.
I have a work visa for Stockbridge but no discipline to speak of. I'd wind up singing cheeky Vimto fuelled Zapatista hip-hop covers with @gembo and then be all funereal on Tuesday.
Less autobiographical, more a personal motto.
No @gembo sadly but perhaps a risk of sea chanties with @SRD. Or the lays of the kingfisher with @jdanielp?
Count me in.
All gone suspiciously quiet since, since I promised to attend.
in shock
Arrived.
Careful on the way home. Skited in the park there. Patches.
Only @chrisfl on bike. Everyone else heading home on possibly slightly foxed feet. Small but successful (I think? Hope?) gathering.
Some suggestion of instituting a beer-based PY... (assume rotating location?)
