One major selling point of my old mountain bike is rack eyelets, poor weather on the other hand is still an exercise in getting filthy wet and probably muddy as hell. The CDF has full length guards (and a rack, which I rarely use at the moment)

Not yet. For a start I've lost the 25.0mm to 27.2mm shim for my USE seatpost. I'm also catsitting until tomorrow evening, which means I'm running out of evenings.

Reminder. I am sick and will be s.l.o.w. But I still want to. 14:45 at the coffee van tomorrow.

What time does that mean you will hit the grey horse?

Hmm. Allowing for coffee / pint at Flotterstone and building in faffing till about 3 at van... Half five? Six?

I don't even know who else is coming at this point, they may have other estimates!

I will have to send my apologies for TPMitD. My Stumpy isn't ready. I was able to get a new chain and even a replacement shim in time, but I've had to spend today fixing my crank forward bike that I wasn't able to wash straight after the snow riding, and the rear mech had all but seized solid and the rear disc is now rusty. I also had to buy a new hosepipe because the old one leaked water all over my garage when I started washing the crank forward.

    Woe.

(Though I am full of solpadeine* and sudafed right now and hoping by the morning I won't need the former in order to be able to look at screens/handle daylight...)

*codeine is the BEST. Take that, sinuses!

BAH. Hurts to move eyes and sinuses seem to be making a break for it through front of face. I will have to bail. On everything - looks like day on sofa with cold pack and drugs.

At this rate we could go over on a nice dry summer evening and I might even join the trip.

    Just rub it in!

As far as I am aware others still going so you might still get a pint / fancy rum.

Looks like eldest is angling for a family meal out in honour of her birthday. (Next week) I could suggest the grey horse but somehow I feel she will want to be up town top ranking

In a heroic effort of wrenching, my Stumpjumper is on the road! Long and low, just like we wanted in 1991. Blimey, people used to ride this stretched out? I will need to reacclimatise, perhaps in time for a warm dry summer's day.

I am now absolutely freezing though. I want to insulate my garage.

@unhurt, my head hurts too. I bashed it yesterday on the clamp of my workstand and it was still sore this morning, so I bashed it again just earlier in case it cancelled out.

Having to ride earlier (in 10 minutes) because of some baby themed challenges. Sorry chaps and chapesses. I think in general I'm only going to be about 20% reliable for a while.
