An informal nod at a rail themed presentation hinted that the Class 156 units are likely to stay on the West Highland route rather than be replaced by Class 158's - downside for operator is apparently only 1 toilet per 2 cars (but most trains are 4 cars - and even more sometimes)
Apparently Class 156's are more reliable but don't have a/c (then again if you have just boarded a train at Corrour having walked in from Loch Treig you might not appreciate the enforced climate in an a/c train?)
From the new timetable on Sunday, I gather we might see the occasional electric train slipped in for the Falkirk High services, although this will not be the newest ones but a Class 380, and possibly a way to get some extra stock transfer options for the current network extremity of North Berwick from the main Class 380 depot in the West.
