Making a new topic as not everyone follows every large, long-running thread.

Discussion in the other topic is here.

Plan: Human bollards - i.e. people with linked arms - where the removed and not-being-replaced "armadillos" were. Useful coverage of this being done elsewhere via @Murun Buchstansangur here

    Place: Leith Walk (obviously!)

Date & Time: suggestions so far: next Wednesday or (this?) Saturday. Time to be decided. Discuss!

AS per @sallyhinch's suggestion I've made a Slack group. (Please admire my restraint in not calling it "The Human Armadillo".) Join link:

Have posted on the POP Slack group.

Do you want something up on the POP facebook group or are you trying to keep it somewhat under wraps? I guess that there is a balance to be sought between getting numbers out, and making it a genuinely surprising event.

Currently a bit up in the air between choosing the 'right' day and awaiting new information from cooncil. Analysis paralysis :-\

Has the All-Powerful Cycling Lobby reached a new stage of influence where even the rumour of a potential protest makes the council have a rethink? If so then we need to start organising suh things more often....

Thus far the excitement has been too much for me, so in future I suggest we just spread the rumours.

I'd say go for it, and if the coonsil announces something concrete in the meantime, turn it into a celebration and hand out mince pies to passing cyclists and well-parked vehicles

Yep, that's looking like the plan.

Give me words / a FB event and I'll put it on the POP FB group, it will distract everyone from shouting at each other about cyclists without lights (sigh)

I hope to make it along next week. I only saw some of the newer parts of the cycling infrastructure on Leith Walk for the first time last week on a pilgrimage to Woodland Creatures. The advanced stop to turn right junction is particularly intriguing. Can't say that I spotted where armadillos were.

Indeed. My brain looked at it and filed it under 'that can't be right'.
